Hill - Gourley
Georgia Kinsey Gourley of Goldsboro and Justin Edward Hill of Charlotte exchanged vows in a double-ring ceremony June 4 at 6 p.m. at Saint Paul United Methodist Church, with the Rev. James H. Harry officiating.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Walker Gourley of Goldsboro and the granddaughter of Mrs. J. Micah Pate Jr. of Goldsboro and the late John Exum Kinsey of Goldsboro, John Costain Gourley of London, Ontario, Canada, and Lorraine Winifred Gourley of Peterborough, Ontario, Canada.
She graduated from North Carolina State University in 2007 with a bachelor’s degree in biological sciences and the University of North Carolina Eshelman School of Pharmacy in 2011 with a doctor of pharmacy degree. She is employed with Walgreens Pharmacy.
The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Bruce Earl Hill of Kinston and the grandson of Elsie Tyndall Hill and the late Edward Earl Hill of Pink Hill and Rosemary King Rouse and the late Mr. Albert Vernon Grant of Kinston.
He graduated from North Carolina State University in 2006 with a bachelor’s degree in construction engineering. He is employed with The Lane Construction Corp. in Charlotte as a project engineer.
The bride was escorted and presented in marriage by her father.
She wore an ivory taffeta gown with a draped bodice and a trumpet skirt that flowed into a sweep train.
Her headpiece was a cathedral-length veil etched in ivory satin ribbon.
The bride carried a hand-tied bouquet of white mini calla lilies, roses, stephanotis and peonies.
Mariana Garcia of New York, N.Y., was maid of honor.
Bridesmaids were Kaitlyn Adele Hill of Kinston, sister of the groom, Jenny K. Oh of Greenville, S.C., Katherine Darshan Culver and Jessica Caroline of Raleigh, Lauren Troxclair Marshall of Greensboro and Megan Elizabeth Wright and Dr. Kelly Caitlyn Prettyman of Washington, D.C.
Bruce Earl Hill was his son’s best man.
Groomsmen were Grant Daniel Hill of Bloomington, Ind., and Jacob Earl Hill of Kinston, brothers of the groom; John Walker Gourley Jr. of Goldsboro, brother of the bride; Jon David Capps of Wilmington; Janver Dionson Osabel of Greensboro; Joshua Bryan Duke of Goldsboro; and Pedro Vincente Verduga Coella of Orlando, Fla.
Sheila Warrick directed the wedding. Presiding at the register were Caroline Paige Hill and Lindsey Morgan Hill, cousins of the groom. Jacqueline Smith Capasso and Hunter Austin Arnett distributed the programs.
Meghan Liles Price and James Clark Brewer Jr. were scripture readers. Matthew Sabiston Wilkins was crucifer.
A program of wedding music was provided by Stephen Gourley, the organist, and Dennis de Jong, trumpeter.
Following the ceremony, the bride’s parents hosted a reception and dance at Goldsboro Country Club.
After their wedding trip to St. Lucia, the couple will reside in Charlotte,.
Events held before the wedding included a family dinner at the home of Mr. and Mrs. John Exum Kinsey hosted by the Kinseys; an engagement party in Raleigh hosted by the bridesmaids; a wedding shower at the home of Mariana Garcia hosted by Miss Garcia and Cynthia Lewis Price; a wedding shower at the home of Jacqueline Smith Capasso hosted by Mrs. Capasso, Meghan Liles Price and Hunter Austin Arnett; a wedding shower at Kinston Country Club hosted by Linda King and Kaitlyn Adele Hill; and a bridesmaids’ luncheon June 3 at Walnut Creek Country Cub hosted by Lorraine Gourley, Blakely Kinsey and Anne Pate.
The groom’s parents hosted a rehearsal dinner June 3 at Goldsboro Country Club followed by a dance hosted by friends.
