Hankins - Lawhorne
Brittany Leigh Lawhorne and Justin Michael Hankins of Goldsboro exchanged vows in a double-ring ceremony April 30 at 5 p.m. at First Baptist Church, with Dr. Glenn Franklin Phillips Jr. officiating.
The bride is the daughter of John William and Donna Lynn Lawhorne of Goldsboro and the granddaughter of Billy Jr. and Martha Lawhorne and Evangeline Naylor of Goldsboro and the late Tillman Naylor of Kinston.
She graduated from Charles B. Aycock High School in 2007 and Wayne Community College in 2010 with an associate degree in dental hygiene. She is employed as a dental hygienist at Dr. Wear DDS in Kernersville.
The groom is the son of James and Kim Hankins of Goldsboro and Rodney and Donna Pendleton of Mountain Home, Idaho, and the grandson of Frances Hankins, the late L.D. Hankins and Frank and Shirley Kirkland of Goldsboro.
He graduated from Charles. B Aycock High School in 2006 and North Carolina State University in 2010 with a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering. He is employed as a design engineer at B/E Aerospace in Winston-Salem.
The bride was escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents.
The bride wore a diamond white satin and organza gown with Swarovski crystals accenting the one-shouldered neckline.
Her headpiece was a waterfall-type veil with crystals and beading surrounding the edges.
The bride carried a hand-tied spring bouquet of white roses, green cymbidium orchids, malibu Gerbers, green spider poms and orange spray roses.
Brooke Lawhorne was her sister’s maid of honor.
Bridesmaids were Brittany King, Corrie Rose, Ashley Boyd and Sarah Lopez.
David Williams was the best man.
Groomsmen were Bennett Jeffreys, Aaron Wilhelm, Kyle Hankins and Phillip Quinn.
Ushers were Bailey Lynch and Tyler Lynch, stepbrothers of the groom.
Leah Lawhorne, cousin of the bride, was flower girl. Joshua Lawhorne, cousin of the bride, was ringbearer.
Deanna Holland and Linda Everhart directed the wedding. Presiding at the register was Olivia Lewis. Brittany Terrell distributed programs.
A program of wedding music was provided by Carol Gray, pianist and organist, and Casey Sutton and Dave Elmore, vocalists.
Following the ceremony, the bride’s parents hosted a reception at Lane Tree Country Club. Wendy Pittman was director.
After their wedding trip to Cancun, Mexico, the couple will reside in Kernersville.
Events held before the wedding included a wedding shower Feb. 26 at the home of Kim Hankins hosted by Mrs. Hankins and Donna Lawhorne; a beach wedding shower April 2 hosted by Corrie Rose; a bachelor party April 9 and 10 in Myrtle Beach, S.C., hosted by the groomsmen; a bachelorette weekend April 15 through 17 hosted by bridesmaids and friends; and a bridesmaids’ brunch April 29 hosted by Kim Hankins.
The groom’s parents hosted a rehearsal dinner April 29 at Lane Tree Country Club.
