Roberts - DeBruine
Dorothy Christina DeBruine and Adam Wade Roberts of Goldsboro exchanged vows in a double-ring ceremony Nov. 6 at 2 p.m. at New Hope Friends Church, with pastor Bill Garner officiating.
The bride is the daughter of Mark Allen DeBruine and Darlene Dorothy DeBruine of Goldsboro and the granddaughter of the late Mark Satre DeBruine and Christine Psihogios DeBruine of Waterville, Ohio, and the late Norman Raymond Heninger and Dorothy Heninger Cousino of Temperance, Mich.
She is a 1999 graduate of Rosewood High School and a 2004 graduate of Wayne Community College with an associate’s degree in dental hygiene. She is employed as a registered dental hygienist with Dr. Dicky Parrish DDS.
The groom is the son of John Edward Roberts Jr. and Alice Hatch Roberts of Dudley and the grandson of Isabelle Hudson Roberts and the late John Edward Roberts of Mount Olive and Stella Odom Hatch and the late Wilbert Ray Hatch of Dudley.
He is a 1999 graduate of Southern Wayne High School and a 2005 gradate of East Carolina University with a bachelor’s degree in industrial technology with a minor in business. He is employed as a maintenance technician at Skill Creations Inc.
The bride was escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents.
She wore a sweetheart strapless wedding dress with asymmetrical draping on the A-line gown. It had a corset tie-back with a chapel-length train edged with a scalloped lace.
Her headpiece was a gold rhinestone and pearl tiara with an elbow-length double-tiered veil.
The bride carried hand-tied bouquet of fall flowers, berries and feathers.
Diane DeBruine was her sister’s maid of honor.
Bridesmaids were Patricia Meyers, Christine Fitzmorris and Ashley Blake, friends of the bride.
John Edward Roberts Jr. was his son’s best man.
Groomsmen were Kevin Roberts, brother of the groom; Mark DeBruine Jr., brother of the bride; Travis Grantham, cousin of the groom; and Adam Harris, friend of the groom.
Ushers were Norman DeBruine, brother of the bride, and Christopher DeCant, cousin of the bride.
McKayla Smith, niece of the groom, was the junior bridesmaid.
Annalise Fitzmorris and Riley Blake, friends of the bride, were flower girls. Luke Kelly, cousin of the groom, was ringbearer.
Rhae McClenny, aunt of the groom, directed the wedding. Presiding at the register were Cynthia DeBruine and Kendra DeBruine. Erin Grantham, Jordyn Grantham and Payton Hatch distributed programs.
A program of wedding music was provided by Elaine Edwards, pianist; Patricia Jackson, vocalist; and Gary Fields, sound technician.
Following the ceremony, a reception was held at the Steak Barn. Jim and Diane DeCant, uncle and aunt of the bride, greeted guests. Annie Grantham, aunt of the groom, and Elizabeth Grantham, cousin of the groom, cut the wedding cake.
After their wedding cruise to the Bahamas the couple will reside in Goldsboro.
Events held before the wedding included a lingerie shower June 18 at the Flying Shamrock hosted by friends and the bridesmaids; a bachelorette weekend Aug. 18 in Myrtle Beach, S.C., hosted by bridesmaids; a bridal shower Sept. 26 at Rhodes Friends Meeting hosted by family; a bachelor weekend Oct. 1 in Myrtle Beach hosted by the groomsmen; a lawn and tool shower Oct. 14 hosted by corporate office staff at Skill Creations Inc.; a bridal luncheon Oct. 19 at The Cakery in Selma hosted by Dr. and Mrs. Dicky Parrish; and a pound-the-pantry shower Nov. 21 at New Hope Friends Church hosted by the Lela Garner Sunday school class.
The groom’s parents hosted a rehearsal dinner in the Family Life Center at New Hope Friends Church.
