Colgan - Smith
Tabitha Lauran Smith and Jeffrey Blake Colgan exchanged vows in a double-ring ceremony Oct. 30 at 5 p.m. at Rosedown Wedding Plantation in Smithfield, with Richard Cloer officiating.
The bride is the daughter of Robert M. Smith and Dora C. Smith of Goldsboro and the granddaughter of James E. and Diane H. Smith and Laura B. Fields of Goldsboro and James D. Fields of LaGrange.
She graduated from Rosewood High School in 2006. She is employed as an instructional support assistant with Wayne County Public Schools.
The groom is the son of Jeffrey P. Colgan and Sandra E. Moore of Goldsboro, the stepson of Patrick Moore, the grandson of Ruth M. Colgan and the late William J. Colgan of Windsor, N.Y., Max E. Eskildsen of Shawnee Mission, Kan., and Bess J. Cloer of Statesville and the stepgrandson of Richard Cloer.
He graduated from Charles B. Aycock High School in 2005. He is employed as a sales coordinator at Turkington USA.
The bride was escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents.
She wore a ivory strapless gown of shimmer satin. The bodice and front of the skirt were gathered with a setting of rhinestones and crystal beading that wrapped around the waistline. The chapel-length train flowed from the crystal beading and rhinestone accents. The back of the dress closed with satin covered buttons.
Her headpiece was ivory lilies.
The bride carried a bouquet of orange calla lilies, green Gerber daisies and lilies, purple mums, orange bittersweet and miniature green hydrangeas.
Bridesmaids were Nichole Hill, Jaquita Dickens and Kasey Grey.
Jeffrey Colgan was the best man.
Groomsmen were Tom Hirsch and Brent Grantham.
Ushers were Allan Smith, Dustin Cook and Craig Daughtry.
Alyssa Pender was flower girl. Avery Wall was ringbearer.
Connie Rouse and Lisa Franz directed the wedding. Presiding at the register was Corey Lucus. Kathryn Smith distributed programs.
Special helpers were Gloria Lassiter, Shelia Farmer, Elizabeth Wall, Pam Hawley, Mr. and Mrs. Ormond, Kathryn Smith, Becky Edgerton and Jeremy Gmytruck.
A program of wedding music was provided by Jenna Ferrell, vocalist, and Ryan Spell, DJ.
Following the ceremony, a dinner and dance reception was held at Rosedown Weddings.
After their wedding trip to Myrtle Beach, S.C., the couple will reside in Princeton.
Events held before the wedding included a wedding shower Sept. 16 at Turkington USA hosted by Susan Peedin and a bridal shower Oct. 3 at Rosewood First Baptist Church hosted by Nichole Hill, Janice Rice, Sam Lane, Pam Hawley and Barbie Gurley.
The groom’s family and friends hosted a rehearsal dinner Oct. 29 at a friend’s home.
