Adams - McNair
Mabell McNair and William D. Adams of Goldsboro exchanged vows in a double-ring ceremony Nov. 20 at 11 a.m. at St. Mark Church Of Christ, with Dr. Frankie Anna Lewis and elder Glenda S. White officiating.
The bride is the daughter of the late Harry Sheilds and Annie Mae McNair of Goldsboro
She graduated from Jarvis Christian College Hawkins in Texas with a bachelor’s degree in elementary education. She is a member of Epsilon Phi Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority. She is employed as a More at Four lead teacher at Wonderland Christian Child Care Center.
The groom is the son of the late Robert Adams and Alice Adams of St. Louis, Mo. He is retired from the United States Air Force.
The bride was escorted and given in marriage by her brothers, James and Matthew McNair, her daughter, Tiffany McNair, and her grandson, Jalen McCullough.
She wore a formal ivory gown that featured a jeweled band of crystals and sequins, along with a sweetheart neckline that had a chapel-length-train.
Her headpiece was an ivory crown with diamonds and pearls.
Aileen Rowe was her sister’s matron of honor, while Tiffany L. McNair, daughter of the bride, was maid of honor.
Bridesmaids were Juanita M. Saunders and Markita C. Rowe, nieces of the bride.
Micheal Wilson was his father’s best man.
Groomsmen were Dana Thompson and William Adams, sons of the groom, and James P. Rowe, brother-in-law of the bride.
Ushers were James Jay Saunders Jr. and Jesse McNair, nephews of the bride.
Markeya Isler, great-niece of the bride, and Kiara Johnson, granddaughter of the groom, were junior bridesmaids.
Jesseica McNair, great-niece of the bride, was flower girl. Jalen McCullough, grandson of the bride, was ringbearer.
Deirdre White directed the wedding, assisted by Sylvia Lewis. Presiding at the register were Cheyenne Johnson, granddaughter of the groom, and Jaliyah Saunders, niece of the bride. Jalecia Moore, niece of the bride, distributed programs.
Linda Lucas, Mary McNair, Keshia Saunders, Jackie Whittington, Dalphine McCullough, Sigmaro McAdoo, Renee Dixon and Michelle Johnson were hostesses.
A program of wedding music was provided by Renita Dawson, vocalist, and Ronnie Johnson with recorded music.
Following the ceremony, a reception was held at Seymour Johnson Air Force Base NCO Club.
The couple will take a wedding trip to London, England, in June. They will reside in Goldsboro.
Events held before the wedding included a bridal shower at Western Sizzlin hosted by Tiffany McNair, and Aileen Rowe; a shower hosted by the staff at Wonderland CCC; and a groomsmen’s party hosted by friends of the groom.
A rehearsal dinner was held at Herman Park Center.
