Ashlyn Kendra Barnes of Pikeville and James Edmund Hines of Winston-Salem exchanged vows in a double-ring ceremony Oct. 16 at 4 p.m. at Wedding Bells Chapel, with the Rev. Michael Williams officiating.

The bride is the daughter of William Page Barnes and Linda Vail Barnes of Pikeville and the granddaughter of the late Anne Barnes Turner of Nahunta and the late Helene Vail Rawson of Pikeville.

She is employed as the patient coordinator at The Dental Care Center.

The groom is the son of Meredy Beck Swafford of Winston-Salem, stepson of the late Douglas Lyle Swafford and the late Tad Edmund Hines and the grandson of Barry and Kathy Hines of Wheaton, Ill., and Robert and Bettianne Beck of Winston-Salem.

He is employed as an appraisal officer at RBC Bank.

The bride was escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents.

She wore a strapless ivory gown embellished with crystals, rhinestones, sequins and beads covering the gown to the waistline. It had a chapel-length train accented with sequins and beads. She also wore a diamond swirl pearl necklace and earrings.

In her hair she wore an ivory flower accented with feathers and sequins.

Bridesmaids were Ashley Stallings and Lindsey Beasley.

Groomsmen were Dana Newsome and Timothy Fogerty.

Skyler Chloe-Lynne Barnes and London McKay Hines were flower girls.

A program of wedding music was provided by Amber Barnes, sister of the bride, vocalist.

Following the ceremony, a reception was held at the home of Dr. Charles and April DisDier.

The couple will reside in Wilson.

A rehearsal dinner was held at Olive Garden in Wilson.
