Wilder-Bateman
Jennifer Lyn Bateman and Dr. Barna Osbone Wilder Jr. exchanged vows in a double-ring ceremony Oct. 16 at 5 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church, with the Rev. Andrew Ross Clark officiating.
The bride is the daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Wallace Bryson Bateman Jr. of Goldsboro and the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Wagner of Sarasota, Fla., and the late Mr. and Mrs. Wallace Bryson Bateman of Charlotte.
She graduated from Wayne Country Day School, Johnson and Wales University with a bachelor’s degree in international hotel management and East Carolina University with a master’s degree in business administration. She attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She is employed as program director for the wound care center at Wayne Memorial Hospital.
The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Barna Osbone Wilder of Zebulon and the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Wade Clayon Lee and the late Mr. and Mrs. Donnie Osbone Wilder of Zebulon.
He graduated from East Wake High School and North Carolina State University with a bachelor’s degree in zoology and a doctor of veterinary medicine degree. He is employed as a veterinarian at Berkeley Veterinary Clinic in Goldsboro.
The bride was escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents.
She wore an ivory gown of beaded lace over satin.
The bride carried a bouquet of white calla lilies, roses and stock.
Emily Holt Best of Goldsboro was matron of honor, while Jacqueline Lee Bateman of Reston, Va., was her sister’s maid of honor.
Bridesmaids were Robin Johnson Armstrong of Greenville, Barnanne Wilder Creech of Zebulon, Lindsey Clark McDaniel of Sarasota, Fla., and Cari Clark Phelps of Savannah, Ga.
Barna Osbone Wilder of Zebulon was his son’s best man.
Groomsmen were Marcellus James Best III of Goldsboro, Rodney Alan Creech and Jeffrey Upchurch of Zebulon, Charles Michael Hester of Albemarle and Joshua Brandon Williamson of New London.
Whitley Hope Creech of Zebulon was flower girl. Wade Lee Creech of Zebulon was ringbearer.
Ellen Jordan directed the wedding.
A program of wedding music was provided by Dr. Jeremy Thompson, organist, and Judith Saxton, trumpeter. Jenna Upchurch and Jamie Upchurch of Zebulon distributed programs.
Following the ceremony, the bride’s parents hosted a reception at Walnut Creek Country Club.
After their wedding trip to St. Lucia, the couple will reside in Goldsboro.
The groom’s parents hosted a rehearsal dinner Oct. 15 at Walnut Creek Country Club.
