Willis-Scott - Jones
Lakecia Renee Jones of Raleigh and Travae Marques Willis-Scott of Goldsboro exchanged vows in a double-ring ceremony Oct. 9 at 1 p.m. at Evergreen Community Church of Raleigh, with pastor Jermaine T. Street officiating.
The bride is the daughter of Bennie Earl and Bernice Jones of Robinsonville and the granddaughter of the late John L. and Annie Robinson of Robinsonville.
She graduated from Roanoke High School in 1996 and cosmetology school in Greenville in 1997. She is the owner of New Life Courier Service of Raleigh/Greensboro.
The groom is the son of Donald and Kimberly Isler of Goldsboro and the grandson of Joseph Scott, Kathryn Scott, Eunice Hines of Goldsboro and Swindell and Mary Isler of Goldsboro and the great-grandson of Gertrude Parks of Goldsboro.
He graduated from Dardens Learning Center in 2003 and attended Johnston Community College’s fire school. He is co-owner of New Life Courier Services and Logistics in Greensboro.
The bride was escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents.
She wore a fitted gown with white and silver sequins.
Angela House was matron of honor, while Linda Moore was the maid of honor.
Vickie Jones-Smallwood was the bridesmaid.
Charles Turner was the best man.
Groomsmen and ushers were Alfreddie Cole, Joseph Scott Jr. and Bennie Jones Jr.
Makeda Smallwood was the junior bridesmaid.
Zion Smallwood was flower girl.
Minister Juan Dickerson was the candlelighter.
Following the ceremony, a reception was held at the church.
After their wedding trip to the Bahamas, the couple will reside in Raleigh.
