Crawford - Hinnant
Brandi Nicole Hinnant and Christopher James Crawford exchanged vows in a double-ring ceremony May 30 at 5 p.m. at Greenleaf Christian Church, with the Rev. William J. Barber and the Rev. Christopher Hearn officiating.
The bride is the daughter of Rose Artis Hinnant and Mr. and Mrs. Johnny Wooten of Goldsboro and the granddaughter of David and Evangeline Isler of Goldsboro, the late Percy J. Artis and Janie and Elbert Wooten.
She is an honor graduate of Goldsboro High School, a summa cum laude graduate of North Carolina State University with bachelor’s degrees in communication mass media and secondary English education and a graduate of Brown University with a master’s degree in urban education policy. She attends Emory University in Atlanta and is pursuing her doctorate. She is employed as a research assistant for the board of regents of the University Systems of Georgia in the office of educator preparation, innovation and research.
The groom is the son of Beverly Stephens of Atlanta and the late Willie James Crawford and the grandson of Ernestine Welch of Opelika, Ala., the late Rudolph Stephens and the late Ella Mae and Jesse Crawford.
He is a graduate of Opelika High School. He attended Auburn University and attends the Art Institute of Atlanta, where he is pursuing a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in film and video production. He is employed as a freelance videographer.
The bride was escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents.
She wore a white gown sprinkled with diamond dust adorned with a sweetheart neckline, a beaded corset bodice with an apron detail, a tulle skirt and a cathedral-length train.
Her headpiece was a rhinestone and crystal tiara with a cathedral-length veil.
The bride carried a bouquet of white miniature calla lilies and white hydrangeas with rhinestones sprinkled throughout.
Jaranda B. Spears was her friend’s matron of honor, while Brianna Noelle Hinnant was her sister’s maid of honor.
Bridesmaids were Courtney Farmer Rascoe, Jordan Vinson and Erin Woodom, cousins of the bride; Dr. Courtney Simmons and Candace Stokes, sorority sisters of the bride; and Crystal Sanders, T. Dominic Harris and Tequilla Barrett, friends of the bride.
Demetrius Daniels and Theodore Woods were best men.
Groomsmen were Kareem Flournoy, Naeem Flournoy and Wesley Belcher, friends of the groom; James Barners Jr. and Evan C. Dixion, friends of the bride; Paul Miller and Derrick Jones, cousins of the bride; and Omar J. Taylor, godbrother of the bride.
Ushers were Malcolm Jones and Gary Warren, cousins of the bride, and Darnell Reaves II, friend of the bride.
Kiera Crawford, daughter of the groom, was the junior maid of honor.
Junior Bridesmaids were Alexis Harper and Kennedy Leslie, cousins of the bride, and Madisson Lee, friend of the bride.
Da’sha Wooten and Kennedy Minus, nieces of the bride; Amaya Keyes, cousin of the bride; and Lauryn Peten, godsister of the bride, were flower girls. Cameron James Crawford, son of the groom, was ringbearer.
Hostesses were Kari Raynor and Margo Boykin, cousins of the bride; Tamaya Davis and Danielle Brockington, sorority sisters of the bride; and Whitney Conaway and Tonya Gray, friends of the bride.
Pages were Stafford Trueheart II, cousin of the bride, and Christopher Hearn, Alexander Spears III and Taylin Odell Davis, friends of the bride.
Bell ringers were Terry L. Evans II and Hunter J. Evans, cousins of the bride; De’Maj Oates, friend of the bride; and Keith Peten Jr., godbrother of the bride.
Dr. Tina Vinson and Natalie Trueheart directed the wedding.
A program of wedding music was provided by Kevin Alston, pianist; Nadia Behizadeh, violinist; and Felicia Leach, Tiffany Alexander, Tyrone Gardner, Kevin Alston and Brandy Smith, vocalists.
Following the ceremony, a dinner-dance reception was held at Lane Tree Golf Club. Monique Reaves greeted guests. Cecilia King and Ilva Jones, cousins of the bride, were mistresses of ceremonies. Pecolia Williams, friend of the bride, cut the wedding cake.
After their wedding trip to Panama City Beach, Fla., the couple will reside in Atlanta.
Events held before the wedding included an around-the-clock shower Dec. 19 at Clayton Women’s clubhouse hosted by Crystal Sanders and T. Dominic Harris; a bridal tea March 13 at Lane Tree Golf Club hosted by the bride and her mother, during which time the bride chose to present gifts to her attendants; a lingerie shower March 13 at Herman Park Center hosted by Brianna Hinnant and Jaranda Spears; a miscellaneous shower April 10 in Decatur, Ga., hosted by Cleo Warren, aunt of the bride; a surprise basket and bag shower May 15 at Shady Grove Missionary Baptist Church hosted by Hilda Farmer, aunt of the bride; a girls’ last night out May 28 at TGI Fridays hosted by Tequilla Barret and Erin Woodom; a bachelor party April 17 in Atlanta hosted by Naeem and Kareem Flournoy.
A rehearsal dinner was held May 29 at Greenleaf Christian Church fellowship hall. Hostesses were Linda Taylor, Sabrina Exum and Toya Taylor.
