Kimbrell-Finlay
Laura Beth Finlay and Charles Michael Kimbrell of Goldsboro exchanged vows in a double-ring ceremony June 12 at 2 p.m. at Family of Faith Community Church, with pastor John Earnest, uncle of the groom, officiating.
The bride is the daughter of Malcom “Donnie” Finlay and Sherry Casey Finlay of Dudley and the granddaughter of Malcom “Bud” and Peggy Finlay of Eureka and Joyce York Casey and the late Clarence “Doodle” Casey of Dudley.
She is a 1999 graduate of Southern Wayne High School. She is employed at BB&T.
The groom is the son of Deborah Stone Kimbrell of Pikeville and the late Charles Donald Kimbrell and the grandson of the late Charles E. and Inez Odom Kimbrell of Jasper, Ala., and Barbara Branch Stone and the late Eugene “Rock” Stone of Goldsboro.
He is a 2001 graduate of Eastern Wayne High School and a 2004 graduate of Wayne Community College with a degree in turfgrass management. He is presently pursuing a degree in business administration.
The bride was escorted by Darren Bartlett, son of the groom.
She wore an ivory wedding dress with a beaded satin top, a full tulle skirt, a strapless neckline with spaghetti straps and Alencon lace and a Basque waist.
The bride carried a hand-tied bouquet of white calla lilies.
Jessie Finlay was her sister’s maid of honor.
Bridesmaids were Colleen Finlay, sister of the bride, and Hannah Anderson, cousin of the bride.
Cory Worrell was the best man.
Groomsmen were Christopher Kimbrell and Donnie Kimbrell, brothers of the groom, and Jeremy Chambley, friend of the groom.
Ushers were Lee Singleton and Ashley Carter, cousins of the groom.
Ava Kimbrell, daughter of the groom, was flower girl. Darren Bartlett, son of the bride, was the ringbearer.
Robin Roberts directed the wedding, assisted by Janna Showman and Karen Earnest, aunt of the groom. Presiding at the register was Elaine Henson, aunt of the bride. Cynthia Ballard and Angi Archambault, friends of the bride, distributed the programs.
A program of the wedding music was provided by Renee Stewart, vocalist, and Jeff Swartz, soundboard technician.
Following the ceremony, an outside reception was held at the home of the groom’s mothers.
After their wedding trip to the Great Smoky Mountains, Tenn., the couple will reside in Goldsboro.
Events held before the wedding included a shower at the home of the groom’s mother and a shower at Family of Faith Community Church.
A rehearsal dinner was held at Toreros.
