Worrell - Winter
GARNER — LaDonna Elizabeth Winter of Holly Springs and Matthew Ryan Worrell of Raleigh exchanged vows in a double-ring ceremony April 10 at 1 p.m. at The Halls and Gardens at Landmark, with the Rev. Paul Scott officiating.
The bride is the daughter of the late Melvin Earl Blackmon Sr. and Peggy Barbour Blackmon of Dunn and the granddaughter of the late Pearl Blackmon of Four Oaks and the late Waldon Junious Barbour and Betty Elizabeth Jackson of Dunn.
She is employed as a senior information technology manager at Duke University Health System.
The groom is the son of Paul Howard and Mary Leigh Worrell of Goldsboro and the grandson of the late Paul and Kathleen Langston Worrell, George Norwood and Lowrise Jones Howell of Goldsboro and the late Sidney Louis Thompson.
He is employed as a computer programmer at Quintiles Transnational.
The bride was escorted and given in marriage by her son, Jaden Alan Winter.
She wore a ivory gown.
Connie Blackmon Jernigan was the matron of honor.
Bridesmaids were Sidney Worrell, Brittany Blackmon, Heather Jernigan, Valerie Eatmon, Regina Barefoot and Roberta Benton.
Paul Worrell was the best man.
Groomsmen were Brandon Hood, Todd Hood, Steven Jones, Timothy Blackmon, Jason Galloway and Christopher Boseman.
Honorary bridesmaids were Lisa Coleman, Leslie Johnson, Dena Starling, Isabelle Christenssen, Marlene Genetski.
Ciara Young was flower girl. Drew and Judd Lovelace were ringbearers.
Kathy Moore directed the wedding. Presiding at the register were Mr. and Mrs. Bruce Howell. Linzy Howell distributed programs.
A program of wedding music was provided by Rhonda McLeod and Eddie Miller, vocalists, and Matthew Fries, DJ.
Following the ceremony, a reception was held in the Marie Antoinette Grand Salon ballroom at The Halls and Gardens at Landmark. Johnny Jernigan and Joseph Jernigan, nephews of the bride, greeted guests.
After their wedding trip to the U.S. Virgin Islands and St. Thomas, the couple will reside in Apex.
Events held before the wedding included a floating bridal shower Feb. 22 at the home of the bride hosted by the matron of honor and sister of the bride; an engagement pig picking party March 6 in Goldsboro hosted by the groom’s family; and a lingerie shower March 20 in Myrtle Beach, S.C., hosted by the matron of honor and bridesmaids.
The groom’s parents hosted a rehearsal dinner April 9 at Bogart’s in Raleigh.
