Carter - Chauncey
Kathy Powers Chauncey of Chocowinity and John L. Carter of LaGrange exchanged vows in a double-ring ceremony June 13 at 3 p.m. at Sheridan Forest Worship Center, with the Rev. Dale Hester officiating.
The bride is the daughter of Jesse Powers of Chocowinity.
The bride was escorted and given in marriage by her father.
She wore a full length gown with a taupe skirt and sash. The top was overlaid in ivory lace with a sweetheart neckline.
Her headpiece was an illusion fingertip veil.
Lisa Stokesberry of Chocowinity was her mother’s matron of honor.
Kim Carter of LaGrange, daughter of the groom, was the bridesmaid.
Ransome Carter of Kinston was his brother’s best man.
Bobby Carter of LaGrange, brother of the groom, was the groomsman.
Ushers were Jesse Powers IV and Galen Powers, nephews of bride.
Tammy Morris and Jeff Brisson directed the wedding. Presiding at the register were Pam Carter of LaGrange, daughter of the groom, and Chance Carter of LaGrange, grandson of the groom.
A program of wedding music was provided by Christie Carter of Greenville, wife of the groom’s grandson, Jonathan Carter, vocalist.
Following the ceremony, a reception was held in the church fellowship hall.
After their wedding trip to New Bern, the couple will reside in Chocowinity.
