Walker - Childers
ERWIN — Krystal Lea Childers and Jonathan Scott Walker of Eastover exchanged vows in a double-ring ceremony May 22 at 3 p.m. at Erwin Church of God, with the Rev. Alton Childers and the Rev. Tony Bossolono officiating.
The bride is the daughter of the Rev. Alton and Donna Childers of Erwin and the granddaughter of the late Fred and Loma Lee Childers of Gaffney, S.C., Delma Pierce of Buchanan, Tenn., and the late Grant Noe Jr. of Harlan, Ky.
She graduated from Charles B. Aycock High School in 2003 and Lee University in 2007 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology. She is employed as a social worker at Falcon Children’s Home.
The groom is the son of the Rev. Rodney and Kelly Walker of Eastover and the grandson of Jerome Walker and the late Margaret Walker of Fayetteville and the late Kenneth Lawson Sr. and Carol Lawson of Greensboro.
He graduated from Cape Fear High School in 2006 and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 2010 with a Bachelor of Science degree in biology. He will attend Campbell University for a doctorate in pharmacy in the fall.
The bride was escorted by her father and given in marriage by her family.
She wore a wore a strapless satin gown overlaid in organza adorned with embroidery and crystals. The fishtail skirt flowed into a chapel-length train.
Her headpiece was a rhinestone tiara with a single-layer elbow-length veil with a pencil edge.
The bride carried a hand-tied bouquet of pink and orange roses and Gerber daisies tied with a pink satin ribbon.
Stephanie Bossolono was her sister’s matron of honor.
Bridesmaids were Alex Abate, Sarah Calfee, Christina Cisney, Cortney McDonald and Jamie Vowell, friends of the bride; Lyndsey Carmical, cousin of the bride; and Jennifer Walker, sister of the groom.
Rodney Walker was his son’s best man.
Groomsmen were Brandon Campbell, Nick Kim, Dallas Williams and Joseph Wood, friends of the groom; Brandon Bossolono, brother-in-law of the bride; Garrett Chase, cousin of the bride; and Matthew Lawson, cousin of the groom.
Rylan Bossolono, niece of bride, was flower girl. Landon Bossolono, nephew of bride, was ringbearer.
Hannah Lovick, cousin of the groom, was the miniature bride.
Beverly Gurkin directed the wedding. Presiding at the register were Kyle and Miranda Britt.
A program of wedding music was provided by Garrett Chase, Rodney Walker and Loretta White, vocalists; Dee Braxton-Pellegrino and Jane Yeager, violinists; Jonathan Simonson, violist; and Paul Kirkpatrick, violincello.
Following the ceremony, the bride’s parents held a reception at the church family ministry center. Richard and Crystal Britt, friends of the couple, greeted guests. Irene Bell, godmother of the groom, served the wedding cake.
After their wedding trip to Antigua, the couple will reside in Fayetteville.
Events held before the wedding included a miscellaneous shower March 21 at Erwin Family Ministry Center hosted by friends and family; a miscellaneous shower April 25 at the home of Tara Smith hosted by friends and family; a miscellaneous shower May 6 at the home of Beverly Gurkin and Sissy Day hosted by Stephanie Bossolono; a bridal luncheon May 21 at the Hilltop House hosted by Betty Noe; and a bachelor party May 21 in Raleigh hosted by friends of the groom.
The groom’s parents hosted a rehearsal dinner May 21 at Chicora Country Club.
