Taylor - Ginn
Megan Nichole Ginn and Travis Ray Taylor exchanged vows in a double-ring ceremony May 1 at 3 p.m. at United In Christ Church, with the Rev. Glenn R. Smith officiating.
The bride is the daughter of Steven and Phyllis Ginn of Goldsboro and the granddaughter of Shirley Ginn and the late Jack Ginn of Fremont and Aaron and Betty Hooks of Goldsboro.
She is a 2003 honor graduate of Eastern Wayne High School, a 2006 honor graduate of Wayne Community College with an Associate of Arts degree and a 2008 graduate of Mount Olive College with a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration with a major in management and organizational development.
The groom is the son of Tony Taylor and Teresa Howell of Goldsboro, the stepson of Eddie Howell of Goldsboro, the grandson of Joyce Taylor and the late Clifton Taylor of Goldsboro and Ed Wade and the late Eleanor Wade of Virginia and the stepgrandson of Kim Wade of Virginia and Ed and Barbara Howell of Goldsboro.
He is a 2002 graduate of Eastern Wayne High School and attended Wayne Community College for turfgrass management. HE is employed as a supervisor at Foss Auto Salvage and Recycling.
The bride was escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents.
She wore a formal gown of white silk taffeta with a V-neckline and short sleeves. The fitted bodice was enhanced with beaded lace appliqués and a drop waistline. The pick-up ruched A-line skirt flowed into a semi-cathedral train. The back of the bodice featured a lace-up corset.
Her headpiece was a crown of white flowers and crystals with a pearled one-tiered veil of silk illusion.
The bride carried a bouquet of silk white roses, white pearled stephanotis and blue asters with lily of the valley.
Jessica Melvin was her sister’s matron of honor, while Rochelle Ketchuck was her friend’s maid of honor.
Bridesmaids were Stephanie Worrell, friend of the bride, and Tiffany Miller, sister of the groom.
Eddie Howell was his stepson’s best man.
Groomsmen were Justin Howell, stepbrother of the groom; Josh Lanaville, friend of the groom; and Jason Miller, brother-in-law of the groom.
Ushers were Scott Melvin, brother-in-law of the bride; Mitch Harrower, friend of the bride; and Kenny Faulkner, friend of the groom.
Jala Melvin was the miniature bride and flower girl. Rylee Miller was the miniature groom. Zaidan Melvin and Walker Miller were ringbearers.
Shannon Melvin, friend of the bride, directed the ceremony. Presiding at the register was Andrea Lawrence, friend of the bride. Justin Hooks, cousin of the bride, distributed programs.
A program of wedding music was provided by Scott Melvin and Brittanie Taylor.
Following the ceremony, the bride’s parents hosted a reception at the church.
After their wedding trip to Gatlinburg, Tenn., the couple will reside in LaGrange.
Events held before the wedding included a party April 3 at Keepsakes Pottery hosted by the bride’s mother and a lingerie shower April 18 at the home of Andrea Lawrence hosted by Rochelle Ketchuck.
The groom’s parents hosted a rehearsal dinner at United In Christ Church.
