Fluhart - Herring
HARKERS ISLAND — Terri Sue Herring of Goldsboro and John Gregory Fluhart exchanged vows in a double-ring waterfront ceremony April 2, with the Rev. Manley Rose officiating.
The bride is the daughter and stepdaughter of Virginia and Robert Sylvester of Albion, Maine, and the late Theodore Carver.
She graduated magna cum laude from the University of the State of New York with a BSN. She is employed as an RN in management at Cherry Hospital.
The groom is the son of the late John Lawrence Fluhart and the late Estelle Yeomans Fluhart of Harkers Island. He attended the University of North Carolina at Wilmington and served on the Duke University Research Ship that discovered the USS Monitor. He obtained a United States Coast Guard captain’s license and piloted charter boats, delivered yachts and fished in sports tournaments. He is employed as a real estate broker at Fluhart Real Estate.
Witnesses were Bill and Joyce Burroughs, friends.
The couple will take a wedding trip this summer to the New England states. They will reside in Harkers Island.
