Brophy-Stone
NASHVILLE — Dana Caroline Stone of Raleigh and Christopher Phillips Brophy of Raleigh exchanged vows in a double-ring ceremony May 8 at 6 p.m. at Rose Hill Plantation, with Jack D. Stone officiating.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Hunter Stone of Wilson and Glenda Jo Poythress of Raleigh, the granddaughter of the late Philip and LouNell Stone of Bailey and Henry and Norma Poythress of Sims and the stepgranddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Gayle Potter of Goldsboro.
She graduated from Greenfield School in Wilson and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She is employed as a paralegal at Meier and Franklin.
The groom is the son of William Earl and Elizabeth Phillips Brophy of Kingstree, S.C., and the grandson of the late Mrs. George Brophy and Mr. Brophy of Spartanburg, Dr. Charles Phillips of Greensboro and Carol Phillips-Oettinger of Durham.
He graduated from Pinecrest High in Southern Pines and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He is employed as sergeant at the North Carolina Army National Guard.
The bride was escorted by her father and given in marriage by her mothers and father.
She wore an ivory strapless satin ballgown adorned with beaded embroidery and a beaded bodice pickup with a cathedral train.
The bride carried a bouquet of calla lilies.
Dion Freels was the matron of honor.
Bridesmaids were Ashley James and Jennifer Brophy.
Erik Blanchard was the best man.
Ushers were Darius Jenkins and Jeffery Whitman.
Troy and Ryan Stone; twin brothers of bride, were junior groomsmen.
Cynthia Cox directed the wedding. Presiding at the register was Andrea Ezzell. Sherry Parker and Teresa Taylor distributed the programs.
A program of wedding music was provided by Anna Crumpton, harpist.
Following the ceremony, Mr. and Mrs. Hunter Stone hosted a reception in Nathan Hall at Rose Hill.
After their wedding trip to Cancun, Mexico, the couple will reside in Raleigh.
Events held before the wedding included a bridal shower April 18 hosted by Norma Poythress, Sherry Parker and Teresa Taylor; a bachelorette party in Raleigh April 23 hosted by Dion Freels; and a bridesmaids’ luncheon May 1 at the Jarmin House in Wilson hosted by the Poythress family.
The groom’s parents hosted a rehearsal dinner at Ribeyes steak house in Nashville.
