Wise-Kidd
Jennifer Lynn Kidd of Grantham and William David Wise exchanged vows in a double-ring ceremony April 2 at 5 p.m. at Walnut Creek Country Club, with the Rev. Jeff Toler officiating.
The bride is the daughter of Henry Edward and Shelia Everette Kidd of Goldsboro and the granddaughter of Margaret Louise Kidd and the late Thurman Lee Kidd Sr. of Dudley and Annie Rose Everette and the late Cecil Staton Everette of Goldsboro.
She graduated with honors from Southern Wayne High School in 2002 and Wayne Community College in 2004 with an associate degree in nursing. She is employed as a registered nurse at Wayne Memorial Hospital and Cherry Hospital.
The groom is the son of Horace K. Wise and Teresa Earl Wise of Grantham and the grandson of the late Ronnie Granger and Gladys Britt Wise, Edna Earl Hood and the late Carol Hood Jr. of Grantham.
He attended Southern Wayne High School and attends Wayne Community College for a degree in welding technology. He is employed as a well driller at Wise Well Drilling.
The bride was escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents.
She wore an ivory dress of both beauty and tradition. The lace gown featured a scalloped neckline, a fitted and flared silhouette with sparkle. The lace of the semi-cathedral train extended beyond the satin lining.
Her tiara was an elegant bandeau of rhinestone leaves accented with freshwater pearls. The veil was a ivory two-tier fingertip-length with a lace motif in gold etching and by rhinestones adorning the scalloped edges.
The bride carried a cascading bouquet of stargazer lilies, green cymbidium orchids, white dendrobium orchids, pastel pink roses, stephanotis and white miniature callas that was adorned with jewels.
Simone Kessler was her friend’s matron of honor, while Kathryn Kidd, sister of the bride, was the maid of honor.
Bridesmaids were Kelli New and Sherry Lane, friends of the couple, and Suzanne Jones, friend of the bride. Brian Perkins was his friend’s best man.
Groomsmen were Steven Kessler, Blake New and Skylar Martin, friends of the couple, and Matthew Wise, cousin of the groom.
Christian Kidd, niece of the bride, was the junior bridesmaid. Hunter Tripp, brother of the groom, was the junior groomsman.
Marissa Martin, friend of the couple, was flower girl. Cameron New, friend of the couple, was ringbearer.
Nicole Bridgers directed the wedding. Presiding at the register and distributing programs were Lori Fultz and Nicole Kessler. Jackie Whitfield presided at the gift table
A program of wedding music was provided by Groovetown Band of Charlotte.
Following the ceremony, the bride’s parents hosted a cocktail hour and seated dinner reception at Walnut Creek Country Club. A five-tiered wedding cake was served by Rhonda Hughes.
After their wedding trip to Scottsdale Ariz., and Grand Canyon, Hoover Dam and Las Vegas, Nev., the couple will reside in Grantham.
Events held before the wedding included a July 4 engagement party hosted by the bride’s parents; a bachelorette cruise Feb. 22 hosted by Simone Kessler; a bridal shower March 19 hosted by Simone Kessler; a bridesmaids’ dinner March 25 hosted by the bride and her mother during which time the bride chose to present gifts to her attendants; a bachelor party March 27 hosted by Brian Perkins; a girls’ night out March 27 hosted by friends of the bride; and a bridal breakfast May 14 hosted by the bride’s mother.
The groom’s parents hosted a rehearsal dinner March 31 at Sandpipers Seafood.
