Jessica Gale Amon of Greenville and Matthew Tyler Nelson of Greenville exchanged vows in a double-ring ceremony Jan. 2 at 7 p.m. at St. Luke United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Charles Moseley and the Rev. Dave Amon officiating.

The bride is the daughter of Joe and Kay Goulding and David and Linda Amon of Goldsboro and the granddaughter of John and Bea Amon, A.W. Goulding and the late Hilda Goulding of Goldsboro and the late William and Margret Summey of Gastonia.

She graduated from Wayne Country Day School in 2001 and magna cum laude from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte in 2005 with a bachelor’s degree in psychology and a minor in religious studies. She attends East Carolina University’s MA/CAS program in school psychology.

The groom is the son of Eric and Marianne Nelson of Goldsboro and the grandson of Alfred and Joan Nelson of Santa Rosa, Calif., and Richard and Aurore Tyler and the late Mary Tyler of Goldsboro.

He graduated from Southern Wayne High School in 2003 and Wayne Community College in 2008 with an associate degree. He attends East Carolina University.

The bride was escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents.

She wore a formal A-line white gown of satin with a halter top neckline and a bodice embellished with lace beadwork and a split front. A satin sash adorned with beadwork accented the dress. A corset back flowed into a chapel-length train accented with beadwork.

Her headpiece was a silver tiara adorned with snowflake rhinestones with double elbow-length veil accented with lace snowflakes and miniature blue daisies at the base of the comb.

The bride carried a cascade bouquet of white amaryllis and white phaleanopsis orchids accented with baby’s breath.

Leigh Ann Tuttle of Charlotte was her friend's matron of honor.

Bridesmaids were Brooke Goulding of Chapel Hill, sister of the bride, and Rebecca Dyer of Mount Olive, friend of the bride.

Sean Nelson of Goldsboro was his brother’s best man.

Groomsmen were Brett Goulding of Wilmington, brother of the bride, and Chris Dyer of Mount Olive, friend of the couple.

Ushers were Chase and Josh Zabrisike, nephews of the bride, and Tyler Stevens and John Michael Amon, cousins of the bride.

Selvi Sangaiah, friend of the bride, was the honorary bridesmaid. Trey Tyler, cousin of the groom, was the honorary groomsmen.

Liliana and Leila Ramirez, nieces of the bride, were snow princesses.

Lucas Ramirez, nephew of the bride, was the ringbearer.

Teri Zabriskie, sister of the bride, directed the wedding. Linda Amon was coordinator. Presiding at the register was Debi Goulding, aunt of the bride. Libby Stevens, cousin of the bride and Kim Tucker, friend, distributed programs.

Michelle Amon, cousin of the bride was Scripture reader. Jerilyn Barrett, cousin of the bride, carried bells and Madison Newby carried the cross.

A program of wedding music was provided by Bess Sawyer, organist; Michael Zabriskie and Peggy Mosley, vocalists; and Doug Tart, trumpeter.

Following the ceremony, the bride’s parents hosted a reception at Lane Tree Golf Club. Gale and Dennis Lewis, aunt and uncle of the bride, greeted guests. Jane Garrison, aunt of the bride, and Janice Tyler, aunt of the groom, served the wedding cake. Dana Ramirez, sister of the bride, and Janice Duffin, aunt of the bride, poured punch.

After their wedding trip to Orlando, Fla., the couple will reside in Greenville.

Events held before the wedding included an engagement party Sept. 19 hosted by Dave and Linda Amon; a Disney shower Oct. 26 hosted by Libby Stevens; a miscellaneous shower Nov. 7 hosted by Jackie Lane, Kim Tucker, Amy Jo Brock, Rita Moore and Theresa Whitworth; a bachelorette party Dec. 5 hosted by Leigh Ann Tuttle; a bridal shower Dec. 19 hosted by the bridesmaids; a bachelor party Dec. 22 hosted by Sean Nelson and a bridesmaids’ luncheon Jan. 1 at Lane Tree Golf Club hosted by the bride’s mother.

The groom’s grandparents hosted a rehearsal dinner Jan. 1 at Lane Tree Golf Club.
