Nunn-Cox
WILMINGTON — Ginger Ruthane Cox of Raleigh and Jeffrey Paul Nunn of Raleigh exchanged vows in a double-ring ceremony Sept. 19 at 4:30 p.m. at First Baptist Church, with the Rev. Thomas E. Loftis officiating.
The bride is the daughter of Ronald Edward and Cynthia Jones Cox of Richlands and the granddaughter of the late Willie Crawford and Virginia Taylor Cox and the late Larry Bryant and Nannie Ruth Jones of Richlands.
She graduated from Richlands High School in 2000 and with honors from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington in 2005 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing. She is employed as a cardiac intensive care nurse at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
The groom is the son of Paul Lee and Pat Williams Nunn of Goldsboro and the grandson of Helen Rivenbark Nunn and the late Paul Ashley Nunn of LaGrange and the late Harvey Lee and Elizabeth Pearce Williams of Kinston.
He graduated from Eastern Wayne High School in 2000, East Carolina University in 2005 with a degree in finance and business and completed his certification with the state of North Carolina in 2007 to be a nursing home administrator. He is employed as the administrator of The Brian Center.
The bride was escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents.
She wore a strapless A-line ivory gown of Duchess Satin with a pleated bodice, a ruched sash at the waist and a couture bow at the back. The front featured a ruffled neckline adorned with tulle, tonal beading and a ribbon neckline.
Her headpiece was a shoulder-length veil of ivory silk illusion.
The bride carried a bouquet of cabbage roses mixed with orchids and hydrangeas.
Tiffany Jones Thompson of Raleigh and Courtney Jones Phillips of Dunn were matrons of honor.
Bridesmaids were Christa Williams Seaman and Dr. Kathryn Kahdy of Raleigh, Krista Curtis Shaw of Albermarle, Jessica Lynn Fountain of Richlands, Lindsey Rhae Rawls and Elizabeth Rand Hatcher of Wilmington and Amber Lynn Varner of Greenville.
Paul Lee Nunn was his son’s best man.
Groomsmen were John Gwen Campbell of New York City, N.Y.; Corey Franklin Cox of Richlands, brother of the bride; Todd Williams Nunn, brother of the groom; and Alferd Benjamin Goodrich II of Raleigh; Maxwell Jeffreys Weaver, Emery Donald Ivey and John Majette Seegars (in absentia) of Goldsboro; and Tyler Delaney Nunn of Cary.
Kim Golder directed the wedding.
Rachel Courtney Mitchell and Bridget Nicole Kennedy were readers.
A program of wedding music was provided by Paula Jean Passmore, vocalist, and Jean Gordy Wachtel, organist.
Following the ceremony, a reception was held at Airlie Gardens in Wilmington.
After their wedding trip to Anguilla, British Virgin Isles, the couple will reside in Raleigh.
Events held before the wedding included an engagement celebration March 14 at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Robert W. Walker hosted by friends; a luncheon shower April 25 at the home of Tiffany Thompson in Raleigh hosted by friends of the bride; a cocktail party June 20 at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Wes Seegars in Morehead City hosted by the Seegars family; a pig picking Aug. 15 at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Ivey hosted by friends; a miscellaneous shower Aug. 15 in Richlands hosted by friends of the bride; a shower Aug. 20 in Chapel Hill hosted by co-workers of the bride; a surprise shower Sept. 11 at the Brian Center hosted by the groom’s co-workers; a bridesmaids’ luncheon Sept. 18 hosted by the bride’s aunts; and a wedding brunch Sept. 19 at Cafe Phoenix hosted by family and friends of the couple.
The groom’s parents hosted a rehearsal dinner at The Balcony on Dock Street in Wilmington and friends and family hosted a dance.
