Wright-Smith
CEDAR MOUNTAIN — Stephanie Smith of Raleigh and Benjamin Wright of Raleigh exchanged vows in a double-ring ceremony June 27 at 10:30 a.m. at Symmes Chapel, with Gail Hyatt officiating.
The bride is the daughter of Gary and Alice Smith of Kountze, Texas, and the granddaughter of Vera Smith, the late Dale Smith and Bob and Faye Swearingen of Kountze.
She graduated from Lamar University with a Bachelor of Science degree in sociology and attends the University of North Carolina at Greensboro for a master’s degree in sociology. She is employed as a case manager at ARC of North Carolina.
The groom is the son of Keith and Mary Ann Wright of Mount Olive and the grandson of Millis and Doris Wright of Elon and Mary Seaford, formerly of McCain, and the late Albert Seaford of McCain.
He graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a psychology degree. He is employed as a case manager at ARC of North Carolina.
The bride was escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents.
She wore a spaghetti strap A-line gown of white crinkle chiffon over silk with a beaded embroidered empire waist and a sweep train. It was accented with a circle diamond pendant and matching earrings.
The bride carried a nosegay of deep pink, lime green, orange and red Gerber daisies, Fiji mums and poppies.
Nate Buchanan of Raleigh was best man.
Christopher Stober of Oregon was the groomsman.
A program of wedding music was provided by a guitarist and cellist from Asheville.
Following the ceremony, a wedding luncheon was held The Inn on Church Street.
After a wedding cruise to the Hawaiian Islands, the couple resides in Raleigh.
Events held before the wedding included a shower at Mount Olive Presbyterian Church hosted by Margaret Anderson, Selena Bennett, Lynn Dail, Kitsie Jones, Susan Lasater, Alma Mooring, Joyce Sloan, Maxine Summerlin and Frances Sykes.
The groom’s parents hosted a rehearsal dinner at The Inn on Church Street in Hendersonville.
