Price - Harris
BURLINGTON — Elizabeth Ashley Harris of Burlington and William Eason Price IV of Burlington exchanged vows in a double-ring ceremony May 23 at 4 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church, with Dr. Chuck Towery, uncle of the bride, and the Rev. Genie Martin officiating.
The bride is the daughter of Allen Moore Harris Jr. of Yanceyville and Billye Biggers Harris of Whitsett and the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Allen Moore Harris Sr. of Farmville and Katie Aycock Biggers and the late Loy Banks Biggers Jr. of Goldsboro.
She graduated summa cum laude from Appalachian State University in Boone with a Bachelor of Science degree in Spanish education and a minor in English as a second language. She is a member of Alpha Chi and Phi Kappa Phi honor societies and she studied abroad in Spain.
The groom is the son of William Eason Price III of Madison and Carolyn Watson Price of Burlington and the grandson of William Eason Price Jr. and the late Andre Price and the late Mr. and Mrs. Ellie Watson of Burlington.
He graduated from Appalachian State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in elementary education. He worked as an intern at Walt Disney World in Orlando, Fla. He was a member of Intervarsity Christian Fellowship and participated in intramural sports.
The bride was escorted and given in marriage by her father.
She wore a strapless satin gown with a tulle overlay, a jeweled bodice with jeweled and lace beading decorating the neckline, hemline and chapel-length train and covered buttons closing the back.
Her headpiece was a fingertip-illusion veil with beaded and scalloped edges and a tiara of Swarovski crystals.
The bride carried a handkerchief used by her great-great-grandmother, Elizabeth Elliott, and a bouquet of red roses and white calla lilies bound with pearls and satin.
Jessica Collins of High Point was maid of honor.
Bridesmaids were Kate Towery of Kinston, Anna Gay of High Point, Kay Nicholson of Burlington and Angela Lauten of Clemmons.
Ryan Price of Burlington was his brother’s best man.
Groomsmen were Tyler Harris of Greensboro, brother of the bride, Joshua Kirkpatrick of Charlotte, Jacob Macklin of Georgetown, Del., and James New of Charlotte.
Jared Stines of Boone was the usher.
Maggie Aldridge of Garner, cousin of the bride, was flower girl. Jesse Stutts of Burlington, cousin of the groom, was ringbearer.
Peggy Moser of Burlington directed the wedding. Megan Towery of Kinston, cousin of the bride, distributed programs.
A program of wedding music was provided by Kay Nicholson, vocalist, and Patrick Murphy, organist.
Following the ceremony, the bride’s mother hosted a reception at The Burke Manor Inn in Gibsonville.
After a wedding trip to St. Lucia, the couple resides in Burlington.
Events held before the wedding included an engagement party hosted by friends of the couple; a lingerie shower hosted by Jessica Collins; a bridal shower hosted by Anna Gay; a kitchen shower hosted by bride’s aunts and grandmother; a tool shower hosted by the groomsmen; and a bridesmaids’ luncheon at the Cutting Board in Burlington hosted by Virginia Griggs.
The groom’s parents hosted a rehearsal dinner in the gardens of Holly Gate and Midlawn in Whitsett.
