Bridgers - Hill
Elizabeth Nicole Hill of Goldsboro and Anthony Tray Bridgers exchanged vows in a double-ring ceremony May 2 at 5 p.m. at Antioch Presbyterian Church, with pastor Kelley Buffaloe officiating.
The bride is the daughter of Fred Hill of Dudley and June Hill of Goldsboro and the granddaughter of Thomas and Ann Hill of LaGrange and Raymond and Naomi Doby of Cameron.
She graduated from Rosewood High School in 2002, cum laude from North Carolina State University in 2006 and 2008 with Bachelor of Science degrees in biological sciences and biological and agricultural engineering and a minor in agroecology. She attends North Carolina State University for a master’s degree in biological and agricultural engineering.
The groom is the son of Tony and Angela Bridgers of Goldsboro and the grandson of Ray and Peggy Bridgers and C.B. Price of Kure Beach and Hilda Farmer of Goldsboro.
He graduated from Rosewood High School in 2002 and North Carolina State University in 2006 with two Bachelor of Science degrees in biological sciences and agronomy and a minor in agroecology. He is employed as an agricultural extension field crops agent with the North Carolina Cooperative Extension in Sampson County.
The bride was escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents.
She wore an A-line strapless gown of light ivory with a sweetheart neckline and a ruched fitted bodice with a champagne satin sash at the natural waistline.
Her headpiece was a fingertip veil adorned with a satin ribbon trim.
The bride carried a hand-tied bouquet of white peonies, green miniature hydrangeas, white ranunculus and Virginia roses accented with fuchsia heather.
Jessica Hill of Raleigh was her sister’s maid of honor.
Bridesmaids were Kristin Lassiter and Kristy Bridgers of Goldsboro, Jennifer Munn and Stephanie Dickerson of Raleigh and Ashley Bruchey of Valdosta, Ga.
Tony Bridgers was his son’s best man.
Groomsmen were Justin Lassiter, Brian Hester and Gary Robeson of Goldsboro, David Franklin of Clayton and Zeb Saunders of West Virginia.
Ushers were Adam Cole and Chad Crews of Princeton, Jeremy Hill of Goldsboro and Matt Griffith of Alpharetta, Ga., and Ryan Griffith of Valdosta.
Mary Chase Grant was flower girl. Hunter Lassiter was ringbearer.
Tina Kornegay directed the wedding. Presiding at the register were Hannah Prichard and AnnaMikel. Traci Bridgers distributed programs.
A program of wedding music was provided by Timothy Price, pianist, and Annabelle Clifton, vocalist.
Following the ceremony, a dance reception was held at Hinnant Family Vineyards in Pine Level. Mr. and Mrs. Mike Doby greeted guests. Wanda Smith was director, assisted by Cindy Surratt and Betty Franklin.
After a wedding trip to the Dominican Republic, the couple will reside in Newton Grove.
Events held before the wedding included an engagement party May 17, 2008, at the home of Dan and Tina Kornegay hosted by Jessica Hill; a Pampered Chef shower March 21 at the home of Betsy Bridgers hosted by Jennifer Munn; a miscellaneous shower April 4 at Antioch Presbyterian Church hosted by the couple’s families; a tool party April 4 hosted by Fred Hill, Tony Bridgers and James Cornell; a bachelorette and lingerie party April 18 in Raleigh hosted by Jessica Hill and Stephanie Dickerson; a bachelor party retreat the weekend of April 18 in Roxboro hosted by Justin Lassiter and Zeb Saunders; and a wedding day brunch at the home of June Hill hosted by Ms. Hill.
The groom’s parents hosted a rehearsal dinner at Antioch Presbyterian Church.
