Johnson - Marshall
ASHEVILLE — Kathryn Hope Marshall of Goldsboro and Chad Edward Johnson of Bennett exchanged vows in a double-ring ceremony March 8 at 1:30 p.m. at Homewood stone manor special event center, with the Rev. Paige Marshall officiating.
The bride is the daughter of William Bruce Marshall of Richmond, Va., and Lois Smiley Marshall of Goldsboro and the granddaughter of Sallie Ruth Parker and the late Billy Spenser Marshall of Richmond and Ralph Parkinson and Joan Kelly Smiley of Goldsboro.
She graduated from East Carolina University in 2007. She was employed as a catering account executive at Hyatt Regency Suites in Atlanta.
The groom is the son of Joel Edward Johnson of Hertford and Susan Stein Johnson of Bennett and the grandson of Margaret Johnson and the late Raymond Johnson of Vienna, Ohio, and Frank and Virginia Stein of Courtland, Ohio.
He is pursuing his second degree at East Carolina University.
The bride was escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents.
She wore a strapless white satin gown. The dropped waist lace bodice was encrusted with seed pearls and crystals. The skirt was formed of vertical layers of illusion ruffles creating a chapel-length train.
Her headpiece was an elbow-length veil edged with pearls and crystals.
Dawnelle Pierce was maid of honor.
Bridesmaids were Susan Elizabeth Church and Angel May Marshall.
David Bruce Marshall was best man.
Groomsmen were Christopher Ryan Church and Jacob Peter Zoller.
Bethany Grace Marshall was flower girl. William Benjamin Marshall was ringbearer.
A program of wedding music was provided by Anna Denison, guitarist.
Following the ceremony, a reception and dance were held at Homewood.
After a wedding trip to Asheville, the couple resides in Greenville.
Events held before the wedding included a cocktail party Jan. 31 in Greenville hosted by Dawnelle Pierce; a wedding shower Feb. 15 at the home of Ralph and Joan Smiley of Walnut Creek hosted by Angel Marshall; a bachelorette weekend Feb. 21 in Myrtle Beach, S.C.; a bachelor party March 3; a wedding day breakfast at the Renaissance Asheville hosted by Susan Joan and Scott Baker, aunt and uncle of the bride; and a bridal party luncheon at the Mellow Mushroom in Asheville.
A rehearsal dinner was held at the Renaissance Asheville.
