ATLANTIC BEACH — Dana Elizabeth Horton of Fort Worth, Texas, and David Charles Hughling of Fort Worth exchanged vows in a double-ring ceremony March 14 at 1 p.m. at Fort Macon State Park, with Russell Bryan officiating.

The bride is the daughter of Archie Wallace Horton Jr. and Ramona Gardner Horton of Mount Olive and the granddaughter of Archie Wallace Horton and Edna Cobb Horton of Macclesfield and David Jasper Gardner Sr. and Madeline Harrell Gardner of Pinetops.

She is a graduate of Wayne Christian School, Campbell University with a major in elementary education and Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth with a master’s degree in Christian education and a concentration in missions. She is employed as a first-grade school teacher in Fort Worth.

The groom is the son of Dale Charles Hughling and Gail Gregory Hughling of Killeen and the grandson of the late Grady and Hazle Burch Hughling of Belton, Texas, and the late James and Madeline Givens Gregory of Luling, Texas.

He is a graduate of Killeen High School and the University of Texas at Austin with a major in aerospace engineering. He earned Eagle Scout recognition through Boys Scouts of America. He is employed as a senior engineer at Sikorsky Helicopter in Fort Worth.

The bride was escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents.

She wore a formal gown of ivory chiffon over satin with a strapless neckline. The waistline was enhanced with metallic embroidery, crystal beading, sequins and rhinestones that lead to a chapel-length train.

Her headpiece was a fingertip veil of silk illusion adorned with scattered beads.

The bride carried a bouquet of hand tied white roses with highlights of pink and orange.

Leah Katharyn Horton of Raleigh was her sister’s maid of honor.

Bridesmaids were Amy Thompson Smith of Newton and Megan Johnson Cox of Richmond, Va.

Travis Wilson of Austin, Texas, was best man.

Groomsmen were Matthew Jennings of San Antonio, Texas, and Norman Ridgway of Fort Worth.

Ushers were Timothy Horton of Wake Forest, brother of the bride, and Egbert Hood of Fort Worth.

Hannah Harkins and Heather Harkins of Goldsboro, cousins of the bride, and Audrey Wilson of Austin were flower girls.

Amy Harless of Fort Worth directed the wedding. Presiding at the register was Dia Hood of Fort Worth. Kate Horton of Wake Forest, sister-in-law of the bride, distributed programs.

A program of wedding music was provided by Vernon Harkins of Goldsboro, guitarist, and Whitney and Mollie Richardson of Eagle Springs, violinists.

Following the ceremony, a reception was held in Morehead City.

After a wedding trip to Colorado, the couple resides in Fort Worth.

Events held before the wedding included a shower March 1 hosted by the Cypress Class of Wedgwood Baptist Church; a tool time shower Feb. 28 in Killeen hosted by family and friends; a shower Feb. 25 hosted by co-workers at Castleberry Elementary School; a shower Feb. 22 at Love Memorial Baptist Church hosted by the BYKOTA class; a shower Feb. 21 at the Olde English Tea Room in Wake Forest hosted by Kate Horton and Joyce Horton; and a personal shower Feb. 13 in Fort Worth hosted by the Wonder Girls.

The Horton and Hughling families hosted a rehearsal dinner.
