Brown - Lewis
Jennifer Anderson Lewis and Ryan William Brown exchanged vows in a double-ring ceremony March 7 at 4 p.m. at St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church, with the Rev. Morton Eugene Carpenter officiating.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Dallas Anderson Lewis of Goldsboro and the granddaughter of James Talbot Jeffreys Jr. of Goldsboro, the late Lois Taylor Jeffreys and the late Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Franklin “Dutch” Lewis.
She is a graduate of North Carolina State University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology and a graduate of the University of Alabama at Birmingham with a Master of Science degree in occupational therapy. She was a member of Sigma Kappa Sorority and was presented at the 2001 Debutante Ball. She is employed with Allied Rehab in Wake Forest.
The groom is the son of Betty Lobdell Brown of Grapevine, Texas, and John Barron Brown of Fayetteville and the grandson of Beatrice Mary Lobdell of Muskegon, Mich., the late William Claude Lobdell Sr. and the late Mr. and Mrs. John Jones Brown Jr.
He is a graduate of Appalachian State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in political science.
The bride was given in marriage by her father.
She wore an ivory satin gown accented with Alencon lace, crystal beads and clusters of seed pearls. The Basque waistline led to a flowing floor-length skirt with scalloped edges that swept to a semi-cathedral train.
Her headpiece was her mother’s chapel-length mantilla of imported silk illusion bordered with Venise lace appliqués.
Carolyn Lewis McGowan and Allison Lewis Nipper were their sister’s matrons of honor.
Bridesmaids were Katie Bender Ferguson, Alison Tyler Lighthall and Allison Frances Munday of Charlotte, Meredith Crystal Hayes and Allen Jordan Lee of Wilmington, Susan Dunlap Stackhouse of Raleigh and Megan Majori Switzer of Birmingham, Ala.
Shane Barron Brown was his brother’s best man.
Groomsmen were Elliotte Todd Chandler of Raleigh, Paul Thomas Dobyns of Columbia, S.C., Justin Hartley Hunter of Bedford, Texas, Christopher Allen Klein of Grapevine, Christopher Harold Pardini of Gaithersburg, Va., Scott Alan Touchton of New Orleans, La., and Zachary Thurman Wideman of Dallas, Texas.
Ushers were David Foy McGowan III of Raleigh and Robert Chestley Nipper of Wilmington, brothers-in-law of the bride.
Thomas Edgar Elmore IV, cousin of the bride, was the crucifer. Ellen Gay Elmore, cousin of the bride, was the acolyte and intercessor.
Cheri Anamier Brown, sister-in-law of the groom, and Robert Jessee Mayfield, friend of the couple, were readers.
Presiding at the register was Courtney Elizabeth Teasley, friend of the bride. Martyn Joseph Armstrong, friend of the couple, distributed programs.
A program of wedding music was provided by William Bryant Hayes, organist, and Joseph Lawrence Brinson, trumpeter.
Following the ceremony, a reception was held at Walnut Creek Country Club.
After a wedding trip to Antigua, the couple resides in Raleigh.
Events held before the wedding included a brunch March 7 at Walnut Creek Country Club.
The groom’s mother held a rehearsal dinner March 6 at Walnut Creek Country Club.
