MOUNT OLIVE — Courtney Beth Brown and Joseph Alan Davis exchanged vows in a double-ring ceremony Oct. 25 at 5 p.m. at Northeast Free Will Baptist Church, with Pastor Sherman Dilley officiating.
The bride is the daughter of William C. Brown Jr. and Stephanie Jo Barwick Brown of Mount Olive and the granddaughter of William C. Brown Sr. and the late Lyda Mae Brown of Centreville and Maggie J. Barwick and the late James Aaron Barwick of Mount Olive.
She is a 2006 graduate of Southern Wayne High School and a 2008 graduate of Johnston Community College with an associate degree in applied science specializing in cardiovascular sonography. She is employed as a cardiovascular sonographer at Johnston Memorial Hospital.
The groom is the son of Kenneth Alan and Rhonda Martin Davis of Goldsboro and the grandson of Anetta Lucas and the late George Clayton Davis of Snow Hill and the late Silas and Maybelle Jackson Martin of Goldsboro.
He is a 2006 graduate of Southern Wayne High School and a 2008 graduate of Wayne Community College with an associate degree in accounting. He attends Mount Olive College for a bachelor’s degree in accounting. He is employed as an accountant at Walnut Creek Country Club.
The bride was escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents.
She wore a wore a diamond white gown of silk taffeta with an off-the-shoulder neckline. The fitted bodice and A-line skirt were enhanced with an asymmetrical waistline that cascaded into a sweep train.
She chose a floral headpiece that corresponded with the bouquet.
The bride carried a bouquet of orange lilies, yellow roses and other flowers.
Aaronia Womble was her cousin’s matron of honor, while Leighanna Grady, cousin of the bride, was maid of honor.
Bridesmaids were Danielle Stanley, friend of the bride, and Krystal Temple, sister of the groom.
Kenneth Davis was best man.
Groomsmen were Jeremy Davis and Randy Temple, brothers of the groom, and Adam Brown, brother of the bride.
Allyson Brimberry, cousin of the groom, and Natalie Conley, cousin of the bride, were the flower girls. Braydon Southerland, cousin of the bride, was ringbearer.
Doris Barwick and Neta Conley directed the wedding. Presiding at the register was Jordan Conley, cousin of the bride. Dylan Davis, cousin of the groom, distributed programs.
Special helpers were Jackie Grady, Rose Conley and Peggy Southerland, aunts of the bride; Stephanie Parkhurst, Dana Southerland and Melissa Conley, cousins of the bride; Monica Brimberry, cousin of the groom; Jean Whitfield, friend of the bride; and Margaret Ann Reaves, aunt of the bride.
A program of wedding music was provided by Sharon Dilley, pianist.
Following the ceremony, a reception was held in the church fellowship hall.
After a wedding trip to Williamsburg, Va., the couple reside in Grantham.
Events held before the wedding included a lingerie shower Oct. 25 at the home of Maggie Barwick hosted by aunts of the bride; a shower Oct. 11 at the home of Sue Beaman hosted by Sue Beaman, Tammy Keel and Debra Barwick; a shower Aug. 24 at the home of Maggie Barwick hosted by the aunts of the bride; a shower Aug. 23 at the home of Rhonda Davis hosted by Teresa Saldivar and Melissa Davis, aunts of the groom, and Krystal Temple; a shower Aug. 9 at Keepsakes Pottery Playhouse hosted by Jerrie, Danielle and Bethany Stanley; and a shower at Johnston Memorial Hospital hosted by co-workers of the bride.
A rehearsal dinner was held at Mount Olive VFW.
