Sasser - Fulghum
Susan Leah Fulghum and Ronald Ransom Sasser IV exchanged vows in a double-ring ceremony Nov. 15 at 4:30 p.m. at Walnut Creek County Club, with the Rev. Michael Ramsey officiating.
The bride is the daughter of Willie Carl Fulghum Jr. and Angela Johnson Fulghum of Wilson and the granddaughter of Willie Carl and the late Jean Boykin Fulghum of Sims and Jimmy Ray Johnson of Wilson and Lynda Wood Johnson of Wilson.
She graduated from East Carolina University with a Bachelor of Science degree in finance. She is employed as a financial analyst at RBC Bank.
The groom is the son of Ronald Ransom Sasser III and Sylvia Burroughs Sasser of Pikeville and the grandson of Doris Jones Sasser, the late Ronald Ransom Sasser Jr. and the late Hubert Ray and Angie Corbett Burroughs of Goldsboro.
He graduated from East Carolina University with a Bachelor of Science degree in construction management. He is employed as a superintendent at Sasser Home Builders.
The bride was escorted and given in marriage by her parents.
She wore a white formal gown of silk organza with a strapless sweetheart neckline. The fitted bodice was enhanced with silk organza ruching and embellished at the waist with detailed embroidery of crystal beading and sequins. The back bodice had a sweetheart back outlining the silk organza ruching. The A-line skirt of silk organza had detailed beading at the hemline. Swarovski crystal buttons cascaded down the back of the gown and flowed into a chapel-length train.
Her headpiece was a comb of rhinestones and pearls that extended into a single-tiered veil of silk illusion fashioned with a scalloped edge of bugle beads and crystals.
The bride carried a hand tied bouquet of white Casablanca lilies and white miniature calla lilies mixed with ruscus greenery wrapped with white satin and organza ribbon accented in pearls.
Rachel Fulghum and Kelsey Fulghum were their sister’s maids of honor.
Bridesmaids were Lauren Bunn, Ashley Clemenic, Ginny Sauls and Melissa Tyndall.
Ronald Ransom Sasser III was his son’s best man.
Groomsmen were Jaramie Pender; Derrick Sasser and Dustin Sasser, brothers of the groom; and Darren Thompson and Dean Thompson, cousins of the groom.
Hannah Cromer, cousin of the bride, was the junior bridesmaid. Jackson Cromer, cousin of the bride, was the junior groomsman.
Aliya Mitchell was flower girl. Jake Creech, Samuel Woodall and Seth Woodall, cousins of the bride, were ringbearers.
Jay Sauls directed the wedding. Presiding at the register was Ragan Peterson, cousin of the groom.
A program of wedding music was provided by Amanda Benton and Steve Owens, vocalists, and Amy Kortus, harpist.
Following the ceremony, a reception was held at Walnut Creek Country Club.
After a wedding trip to St. Lucia, the couple reside in Goldsboro.
Events held before the wedding included a brunch Nov. 15 at Liberty Pentecostal Holiness Church fellowship hall hosted by Tracy Riggs, cousin of the groom; a bridesmaids’ luncheon Nov. 14 at The Legacy in Elm City hosted Lynda Johnson, grandmother of the bride; a girls’ weekend Nov. 7 in Charlotte hosted by friends of the bride; a miscellaneous shower Nov. 6 at RBC Bank in Raleigh hosted by co-workers of the bride; a miscellaneous shower Nov. 1 at the home of Lynda Johnson, grandmother of the bride, hosted by Lynn Cromer, aunt of the bride, and Ms. Johnson; a miscellaneous shower Oct. 28 at RBC Bank of Rocky Mount hosted by the co-workers of the bride; a bachelor weekend Oct. 23 in Charlotte hosted by friends of the groom; a monogram shower Oct. 10 at the home of Sallie Creech hosted by Ms. Creech, Jennifer Wilson, Hannah Woodall and Vivian Woodall, aunt of the bride; and a couples’ shower Oct. 4 at the home of Michael and Stephanie Taylor hosted by the Taylors.
A rehearsal dinner was held Nov. 14 at Walnut Creek Country Club.
