Rynearson - Mercer
Melissa Ann Mercer became the bride of Adam Thomas Rynearson Saturday, Nov. 1, in a double-ring ceremony at Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church in Supply. The Rev. Richard Hicks officiated.
The bride is the daughter of Wesley and Vickie Mercer, formerly of Goldsboro and now of Shallotte, and the granddaughter of Bob Graley and the late Delcie Graley, Janice Pridgen and the late Charles Pridgen, and John Mercer and the late Joy Mercer.
She is employed by Rex Hospital in Raleigh.
The groom is the son of Virginia “Gina” and Bob Fry of Raleigh and Roger Rynearson of Iowa, and the grandson of Erika Worley and the late Dale Worley.
He is self-employed and also works as a tattoo artist in Raleigh.
The bride was escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents.
She wore a white chiffon gown with a fitted bodice with a sweetheart neckline and iridescent beading and pearls. It had a chapel-length train.
She carried a bouquet of white roses and blue morning glories.
Sherrill Tharrington was her sister’s maid of honor. Sarah Croom, cousin of the bride, and Jennifer Devereaux and Lucy Perry, friends of the couple, were bridesmaids.
Hannah Swinson, cousin of the bride, and Sydney White, goddaughter of the groom, were flower girls.
James Rynearson, brother of the groom, was the best man. Ryan Robbins, Tony Stump and Josh Devereaux, friends of the couple, were groomsmen.
Austin Tharrington, nephew of the bride, was the ring bearer.
Haleigh Swinson, cousin of the bride, passed out programs and Tina Kelly, friend of the couple, presided at the register. Peggy Dale, aunt of the bride, directed the wedding.
A program of wedding music was performed by John Hewett, friend of the bride.
After the ceremony, a reception was held at Lockwood Folly Community Building. Linda Turner, friend of the bride, greeted guests. Bob and Betty Sherrill, aunt and uncle of the bride, served the cake, and Denise and Lee Richardson, aunt and uncle of the bride, served punch.
Events held before the wedding included a shower Oct. 11 hosted by Lucy Perry and Jennifer Devereaux; a shower Oct. 18 followed by a bachelorette party hosted by Sherrill Tharrington and Sarah Croom. A bachelor party was held Oct. 25.
After a cruise to the Bahamas, the couple will reside in Clayton.
