Campbell - Berkesch
GREENVILLE, S.C. — Jennie Porterfield Berkesch and John Gwyn Campbell exchanged vows in a double-ring ceremony Oct. 18 at 5 p.m. at Symmes Chapel, with The Honorable Matthew Hawley officiating.
The bride is the daughter of Timothy J. Berkesch of Clarkston, Ga., and the late Martha Catherine Dade of Greenville and the granddaughter of Irma Berkesch and the late Joseph Berkesch of Harper Woods, Mich., and Martha Sevison Dade and the late James Randolph Dade of Hopkinsville, Ky.
She is a graduate of Duke University. She is employed as an oilseed trader at Bunge Global Agribusiness.
The groom is the son of Dr. Robert Richard and Dr. Charlotte Thompson Campbell of Goldsboro and the grandson of the late Elizabeth Marsh Campbell, Joseph Richard Campbell, Valeria Thompson Maxwell and the late Dr. James Albert Thompson of Virginia.
He is a graduate of Duke University. He is employed as a software developer at Yabla Inc.
The bride was escorted by her father.
She wore a silk organza strapless A-line gown with a pearl and crystal floral motif on the bodice.
The bride carried a bouquet of white calla lilies, cream roses and blue delphiniums.
Martha Dade Berkesch was her sister’s maid of honor.
Bridesmaids were Beth Campbell, sister of the groom, Lauren Bissey, Chrissy Bradshaw and Erica Poletto.
Todd Williams Nunn was best man.
Groomsmen were David Arvan, Brad Gottfried, Jeff Nunn and Drew Romes.
Ushers were Joseph Berkesch, brother of the bride, and Justin Davis, cousin of the groom.
Erica Campbell, niece of the groom, was flower girl. Oliver Campbell and Sam Johnson, nephews of the groom, were ringbearers.
A program of wedding music with hammered dulcimer, flute and classical guitar was provided by Braidstream Music of Asheville.
Following the ceremony, a reception was held at the Westin Poinsett Hotel in Greenville.
After a wedding trip to New Zealand, the couple reside in New York City.
Events held before the wedding included a wedding day brunch at the home of Emmy and Bill Holt in Greenville hosted by friends of the bride and a pre-wedding party at the home of Pat and Paul Nunn in Goldsboro hosted by friends of the groom.
The groom’s parents hosted a rehearsal dinner at the Wyche Pavilion in Greenville.
