Jones - Vinson
Brittany Leigh Vinson and Robert Dane Jones exchanged vows in a double-ring ceremony June 21 at 5 p.m. at St. Luke United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Glenn Everett and the Rev. Rick Ward officiating.
The bride is the daughter of Ernest Lee and Beverly Benton Vinson of Goldsboro and the granddaughter of the late Zolla Coffer Vinson Jr., Virginia Radford Vinson, and Marie Fulghum and the late Richard Paul Benton of Goldsboro.
She graduated from Eastern Wayne High School in 2005 and attends Wachovia Partnership East Program through East Carolina University for a degree in early childhood education. She is employed as a teacher assistant at North Drive Elementary School.
The groom is the son of Robert Allen and Diana Wood Jones of Goldsboro, the grandson of Laura Lancaster Griffith of LaGrange, the late Kenneth Ackley Jones and Virginia Hope Anderson Meyerhoeffer of Goldsboro and Charles Kenneth Wood of Greensboro and the stepgrandson of Ed Meyerhoeffer, Sylvia Wood and Alan Griffith.

The bride was escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents.
She wore a white satin strapless gown. The bodice had an embroidered net overlay accented with sequins and seed pearls. An asymmetrical satin draping decorated the dropped waistline. The A-line skirt featured peaked embroidery on the flowing organza skirt and a satin band edged the hemline that flowed into a chapel-length train.
Her headpiece was a rhinestone tiara of crystals and pearls. The veil was fingertip-length single layer with seed pearls and crystal accents along the edge.
The bride carried a bouquet of blue hydrangeas, white roses and Bells of Ireland tied with white ribbon.
Karen Benton was maid of honor.
Bridesmaids were Jessica Schaffer, Kathleen Ray and Laura Smith. Bridesman was Josh Heidenreich.
Robert Allen Jones was his son’s best man.
Groomsmen were Caleb Jones, Brandon Vinson, Mikie Hatch, Chris Hemenway and David Benton.
Carey Hinnant was the honorary bridesmaid.
Skylar Knopick was flower girl. Braeden Knopick was ringbearer.
Emily Peacock directed the wedding. Presiding at the register was Myra Best. Miranda Rackley and Tia Owens distributed programs.
Candice Carter and Jade Jordan were acolytes. Carey Hinnant was a special reader.
A program of wedding music was provided by Sherry Aycock and Rick Pridgen, vocalists; Bess Sawyer, organist; and Paige Barwick, violinist.
Following the ceremony, the bride’s parents hosted a reception at Lane Tree Golf Club. Lynn Chewning was director. Mr. and Mrs. Michael Benton and Mr. and Mrs. Ken Jones greeted guests. Susie Daniels served the wedding cake. Reception attendants were Karen Rains, Mary Beth Chandler and Terry Benton. Zoe and Cody Carter and Coe Jordan distributed bubbles.
After a wedding trip to Palm Beach, Fla., the couple reside in Goldsboro.
Events held before the wedding included a bridesmaids’ brunch June 20 at the Royal Tea Room hosted by Lillie and Myra Best during which time the bride chose to present gifts to her attendants; a manicure party June 19 hosted by the bride; a shower June 10 at School Street School hosted by co-workers; a floating miscellaneous shower June 1 at Saulston United Methodist Church hosted by the church; a cook-out and lawn and garden shower May 31 at Daniels Church hosted by Ken, Tery, Karen and David Benton; a shower May 27 hosted by co-workers at North Drive Elementary School; and a floating miscellaneous shower April 13 at Daniels Church hosted by the Friendship Circle.
The groom’s parents hosted a luau rehearsal dinner June 20 at Raintree Clubhouse.
