Ham-Underwood
Rocksand Marie Underwood of Charlotte and Jesse Adam Ham of Charlotte exchanged vows in a double-ring ceremony June 28 at 2 p.m. at The Lord’s Table Church, with Bill Wilson officiating.
The bride is the daughter of Arnyll Justus Underwood and Jo Marie Mitchell of Dudley and the granddaughter of Violet Marie Mullins, the late Arnet Ross Underwood, Patricia Ann Moore and the late Sidney Clay Sweeney of Hinton, W. Va.
She graduated from Spring Creek High School in 2003 with honors and Wayne Community College with an Associate in Arts degree. She attends the University of North Carolina at Charlotte’s College of Architecture for a Bachelor of Arts degree in architecture. She is employed as an architectural intern at Hennon Group Architects.
The groom is the son of Jesse Mitchell and Jo Ellen Ham of Goldsboro and the grandson of Dorothy Rose Ellis, the late Joseph Cleveland Ham and Johnny Ebin and Sylvia Serle House of Goldsboro.
He graduated from Eastern Wayne High School in 2002 and Wayne Community College with an Associate in Arts degree. He attends the University of North Carolina at Charlotte’s College of Engineering for a bachelor’s degree in computer and electrical science.
The bride was escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents.
She wore a gown of embroidered net with Swarovski crystals overlaid on the strapless neckline meeting the draped empire. The boned torso had a corset tie back with a dropped waist and a ruched skirt with embroidery into the pick ups and onto the chapel-length train.
Her headpiece was a veil with blusher and a handmade butterfly beaded clip.
The bride carried a bouquet of purple ranunculus, white hyacinths and miniature tulips with the stems wrapped in silver ribbon.
Jessica Pigford was maid of honor.
Bridesmaids were April Keen and Marie Johnson.
John James was best man.
Groomsmen were Nicholas Ham and Ryan Benton.
Ushers were Arnyll Underwood II, Gerald Mitchell Jr., Lee Davis, Justin Davis and Cody Miller.
Jacey Stevens, Cinnamon Earhart and Sierra Earhart were junior bridesmaids.
Amber Padilla, Elena Padilla and Danielle Padilla were flower girls. Noah Earhart was ringbearer.
Lee-Ann Keen directed the wedding. Presiding at the register was Denise Stevens.
A program of wedding music was provided by Estine Wilson, pianist, and Mitch and Jo Ellen Ham, vocalists.
Following the ceremony, a reception was held at Walnut Creek Country Club.
After a wedding trip to Mexico, the couple reside in Charlotte.
Events held before the wedding included a bridal shower May 31 at The Lord’s Table hosted by Estine Wilson and a lingerie shower May 31 at the home of Danny and Lee-Ann Keen hosted by April Keen and Jessica Pigford.
The rehearsal dinner was held at Lane Tree Country Club.
