Rogers - Grantham
PRINCETON — Lauren Melissa Grantham and Geoffrey Brooks Rogers exchanged vows in a double-ring ceremony May 18 at 6 p.m. at Princeton Church of God, with the Rev. Andrew Stovall and the Rev. Ferrell Hardison officiating.
The bride is the daughter of Mitchell Guyton and Betty Moore Grantham of Goldsboro and the granddaughter of Lee Ronald and Jewel Hudson Grantham and Russell Miller and Myrtle Griffis Moore of Goldsboro.
She graduated from Eastern Wayne High School in 2003 and Coastal Carolina University in 2007 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in musical theater. She is employed as a singer at The Roanoke Rapids Theatre.
The groom is the son of Will H. and Sherry Ham Rogers of Goldsboro and the grandson of the late Tommy Hubert and Lida Mae Rogers of Princeton and Evelyn Cruse and the late Leslie Ray Ham of Goldsboro.
He graduated from Eastern Wayne High School in 2002 and attends Mount Olive College for a degree in management of information systems. He is employed as a patient financial services systems analyst at Wayne Memorial Hospital.
The bride was escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents.
She wore an ivory gown of silk taffeta. The fitted bodice was embroidered and accented with rhinestones, sequins and Swarovski crystals. The drop-waistline led to a full skirt with ruched pickups and a chapel-length train.
Her headpiece was a cathedral-length veil attached to a rhinestone hair accent.
The bride carried a clutch bouquet of miniature white calla lilies, Virginia Roses, Queen Anne’s Lace, green hydrangeas, stephanotis with white clear stones and bear grass looped over the flowers.
Amanda Grantham of Goldsboro was her sister-in-law’s matron of honor, while Jana Yelverton of Goldsboro, friend of the bride, was maid of honor.
Bridesmaids were Tara McLamb of Goldsboro, sister of the groom; Ashley Whisneant of Silsbee, Texas, friend of the bride; and Ashley Grimes of Cleveland, Tenn., and Hannah Grimes of Roanoke Rapids, cousins of the bride.
Will Rogers was his son’s best man.
Groomsmen were Jared Grantham of Goldsboro, brother of the bride; Justin McLamb of Goldsboro, brother-in-law of the groom; Jamie Farnell of Goldsboro, friend of the groom; Randy Strickland of Goldsboro, cousin of the groom; and Brent Grantham of Mount Olive, cousin of the bride.
Ushers were Derrick Ham and Scott Ham of Goldsboro, cousins of the groom; Jack Grimes of Roanoke Rapids, cousin of the bride; and Joey Lancaster of Goldsboro, friend of the couple.
Honorary bridesmaids were Alexandra Ziolkowski of Baltimore, Md., Lizz Moring of Charleston, S.C., Caitlyn Pollock of Germantown, Md., and Caroline Cuseo of Myrtle Beach, S.C., college friends of the bride.
Anna Grantham, cousin of the bride, was flower girl. Evan Moore, cousin of the bride, was ringbearer.
Madison Shattuck was the miniature bride. Hunter Stovall was the miniature groom.
Kellie Davis directed the wedding. Presiding at the register was Kelly Head. Alicia Stevens and Karrie Johnson distributed programs.
A program of wedding music was provided by Phil Huffman, pianist; Jared Grantham, Pam Bedford and Indira Dixon, vocalists; Brent Shattuck and Steve Dixon, guitarists; and Pattie Hopkins, violinist.
Following the ceremony, the bride’s parents held a reception at Lane Tree Country Club. Brian and Patricia Eubanks of Cleveland, Tenn., and Scott and Karen Smith of Dunn greeted guests.
After a wedding trip to Turks and Caicos, Half Moon Cay, and Nassau, Bahamas, the couple reside in Fremont.
Events held before the wedding included a miscellaneous shower May 4 at Whitley Church; a well-wishing shower April 13 hosted by Laura Grantham, Darlene Grantham, Kellie Davis and Gina Grantham; a bachelor weekend April 11 in Topsail Island hosted by Jared Grantham and friends; a bachelorette weekend and lingerie shower April 11 in Roanoke Rapids hosted by Amanda Grantham and friends; a lawn and garden shower April 6 hosted by John and LaRue Tart and Wade and Candice Singleton; a tea party and miscellaneous shower March 30 at the Royal Tea Room hosted by Jana Yelverton; a miscellaneous shower March 16 at United in Christ; an engagement party March 2 hosted by the Grimes family; and a Christmas shower Jan. 6 hosted by Amanda Grantham.
The groom’s parents held a rehearsal dinner May 17 at Raintree Clubhouse.
