Griffin - Gabriel
GREENSBORO — Shante Monique Gabriel of Greensboro and Antonio Remone Griffin of Greensboro exchanged vows in a double-ring ceremony June 14 at 3 p.m. at Christ Covenant Church, with Pastor Rodney Barlow officiating.
The bride is the daughter of John Austin of Atlanta, Ga., and Marie Gabriel-Menyweathers of Greensboro and the granddaughter of Hettie Ivery of Baltimore, Md., the late John Austin Sr. of Atlanta, Dorothy Woodson of High Point and the late Lawrence Daye of Rahway, N.J.
She is a 2005 graduate of the University of North Carolina at Greensboro with a Bachelor of Arts degree in religious studies. She is employed as a mortgage loan analyst at Bank of America.
The groom is the son of Harvey Griffin and Virginia Smith-Griffin of Goldsboro and the grandson of Milford Coley, the late Dorothy Griffin, the late Albert Smith and Mary Smith Holden-Bean of Goldsboro.
He is pursuing a bachelor’s degree in social work. He is employed as a production senior associate at Dell Inc.
The bride was escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents.
She wore a strapless A-line designer dress with a chapel train.
The bride carried a bouquet of roses and calla lilies.
Nicole Griffin and Gaye Stevens were matrons of honor, while Courtney Hartgrove was maid of honor.
Bridesmaids were Jennifer Perry, Kaleatha Howell, Kendra Whitaker, Jamesa Boyd, Rhonda Robinson, Clarice Fultz, Ashley Williams and Lakasha Carter.
Anthony Griffin, Obrien Carter and Wyatt Ragland were best men.
Groomsmen were Harvey Griffin Jr., Michael Yelverton, Brian Moody, Antron Vaughn, Jeffrey Smith, Joseph Byrd, Bryan Davis, Corey Butler, Anthony Young and Jonathan Parker-Ashley.
Ushers were Christopher Jones, Tommy Smith, Aaron Smith, Christopher Mitchell, Christopher Simmons, Anthony Halloway and Kenneth Newkirk.
Honesty Boseman and Keymoni Jenkins were junior bridesmaids.
Tamia Stevens and Kahlani Jenkins were flower girls. Jason Austin was ringbearer.
Kenny King directed the wedding. Presiding at the register were Toynesha Alston and Jessica Searcy. Tori McElrath, Denecia Ratley and Nicci Spruill distributed programs.
A program of wedding music was provided by Rydell Harrison, pianist; Tamela Brinson, vocalist; and Lattania Ellerbe, violinist.
Following the ceremony, a reception was held at Revolution Mill Studios in Greensboro
The couple reside in Greensboro.
