Lorraine Bynum of Dudley and Fatress Leonard Moore of Wendell exchanged vows in a double-ring ceremony March 22 at 1 p.m. at St. Mark Church of Christ, with Bishop Alton A. Smith officiating.

The bride is the daughter of the late Carney Alfonso and Beatrice Joyner Bynum.

She is a 1994 graduate of East Carolina University with a Bachelor of Science degree in elementary education and a 2008 graduate of the University of Phoenix with a master’s degree in curriculum and instruction. She is employed as first-grade teacher at Brogden Primary School.

The groom is the son of Ida Mae Mason of Ahoskie and the late Luther Barnes and the grandson of James Moore of Ahoskie.

He is retired from the Army. He is employed as an auto technician at All Tune and Lube of Raleigh.

The bride was escorted and given in marriage by her son, Michael Wimbush.

She wore a Swiss dot tulle A-line dress with beaded lace appliqués, a satin empire waist and a lace modesty panel in ivory and champagne. The back was tied with a corset and a lace-length train.

Her headpiece was a three-tiered cathedral veil with a corded edge and scattered rhinestones attached to a gold-brushed metal leaf tiara with pearls and rhinestones.

The bride carried a bouquet of ivory roses tied with ivory satin ribbons.

Ida M. Raynor of Goldsboro was her friend’s matron of honor, while Kendra Roberts of Dudley, daughter of bride, was maid of honor.

Bridesmaids were Apryl Carpenter of Goldsboro, Mary Love and Antoinette Ward of Goldsboro and Gwyn Matthews of Dudley, friends of the bride, and Elvira Spiers of Winton, sister of the groom.

Melvin Ward of Goldsboro was his cousin’s best man.

Groomsmen were Fredrick Bynum of Dudley, brother of bride; Michael Davis and Napoleon Matthews of Dudley, friends of the bride; Andrew Mason of Maryland, brother of groom; and Julius Massenburg of Raleigh, friend of the groom.

Jourdan Hamilton, son of the bride, was the junior groomsmen.

Brianna Benedict of Goldsboro, god daughter of bride, and Melissa Matthews of Dudley, friend of bride, were junior bridesmaids.

Ushers were Calvin Bynum of Albany, N.Y., brother of bride, and Dalvin Reid of Goldsboro, nephew of bride.

Nya Ward of Goldsboro, goddaughter of bride, was flower girl. Darrion Foster of Charlotte, nephew of bride, was ringbearer.

Damesha Smith and Cheryl Brewington directed the wedding. Presiding at the register was Dianne West of Goldsboro, sister of bride. Dianne West distributed programs.

Hostess were Wanda Reid, Beajeanna McCullen, Trevita Johnson and Tomica Bowman.

A program of wedding music was provided by Tony Edmondson and Antonya Powell, vocalists, and Tony Edmondson, guitarist.

Following the ceremony, a reception was held in the church fellowship hall.

After a wedding cruise to Nassau, Bahamas, Cococay, Bahamas and Key West, Fla., the couple reside in Wendell.

Events held before the wedding included a shower March 23 in Garner hosted by the groom’s sister and a shower March 8 hosted by Brogden Primary School staff.

A rehearsal dinner was held March 21 at Logan’s. The couple chose this time to present gifts to their attendants.
