Miller - Newsome
Elizabeth Ann Newsome and Edward Lee Miller exchanged vows in a double-ring ceremony March 8 at 3 p.m. at Rosewood First Baptist Church, with the Rev. Larry Bostian officiating.
The bride is the daughter of David Ralph and Darlene Newsome of Princeton and the granddaughter of the late Arnold and Hazel Newsome of Princeton and Pete and Melva Bass of Goldsboro.
She graduated from Rosewood High School in 1996, Wake Forest University in 2000 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in anthropology and Wayne Community College in 2004 with an associate degree in nursing. She is employed as a public health nurse at the Wayne County Health Department.
The groom is the son of Rowlis and Shirley Miller of Smithfield.
He graduated from Smithfield Selma Senior High School in 1993 and Johnston Community College with an associate degree in science and general education. He served in Army. He is employed as a medical laboratory technologist at the Wayne County Health Department.
The bride was escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents.
She wore a a strapless gown with a sheer V-neckline and an empire waist embellished with a flower-beaded pattern on the bodice. The A-line skirt was finished with a court-length train.
The bride carried a bouquet of fire and ice roses with stargazer lilies.
Bridesmaids were Amy Newsome Dover of Smithfield, Va., and Megan Newsome Newell of Goldsboro, sisters of the bride, and Heather Lynch of Raleigh, friend of the bride.
Joe Miller of Micro was his brother’s best man.
Groomsmen were Will Newsome of Princeton, brother of the bride, and Gary Bass of Greenville, uncle of the bride.
Hunter Newell, niece of the bride, was flower girl.
Janet Woodard, aunt of the bride, directed the wedding. Presiding at the register was Melissa Sutton. Martha DiMaria distributed programs.
A program of wedding music was provided by Virginia Taricani, vocalist, and Bradley Collier, organist.
Following the ceremony, a reception was held at the church’s Braswell Hall.
After a wedding trip to Sedona, Ariz., and Las Vegas, Nev., the couple reside in Goldsboro.
Events held before the wedding included a bridal shower Feb. 29 hosted by the maternity and lab staff of the health department and a bridal shower Feb. 3 hosted by the Explorers Sunday school class of Rosewood Church.
A rehearsal dinner was held March 7 in Braswell Hall. Glen and Sandy Turnage of Goldsboro assisted.
