Hinnant - Ginn
Carey Rebecca Ginn and Alan Michael Hinnant exchanged vows in a double-ring ceremony March 8 at 5 p.m. at Saulston United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Rick Ward officiating.
The bride is the daughter of Donald G. and Pamela C. Ginn of Pikeville and the granddaughter of Garland J. and Iris T. Ginn, Benjamin Thayer and the late Doris Rebecca Carey of Pikeville.
She is a 2002 graduate of Charles B. Aycock High School and a 2007 graduate of the University of North Carolina at Wilmington with a Bachelor of Science degree in elementary education. She is employed as a third-grade teacher at School Street Elementary School.
The groom is the son of Michael H. and Janet D. Hinnant of Goldsboro and the grandson of the late Hugh Garland and Hilda Pate Hinnant and the late Matthew and Nolie Harper Duke of Goldsboro.
He graduated from Charles B. Aycock High School in 2000 and the University of North Carolina at Wilmington in 2006 with a bachelor’s degree in business administration. He is employed as assistant director of food and beverage with the Carolina Mudcats.
The bride was escorted by her father and presented in marriage by her parents.
She wore a strapless stark white satin gown with a pickup-style skirt. The bodice was accentuated with beaded metallic embroidery.
Her headpiece was a rhinestone tiara that extended into a two-tiered veil of silk illusion adorned with pearls.
Miranda Rackley was her sister’s matron of honor, while Ms. Brooke Thompson, friend of the bride, was maid of honor.
Bridesmaids were Brittney Carey and Casey Stephenson, cousins of the bride, and Mary Ellen Corbett, Nicole deVarona and Stefanie Warner, friends of the bride.
Michael H. Hinnant, father of groom, and Miguel deVarona, friend of groom, were best men.
Groomsmen were Scot Anderson, Jason Corbett, Michael Gardner and David Vause, friends of the couple, and Scott Rackley, brother-in-law of the bride.
Brian Taylor Stephenson, cousin of the bride, was the usher.
Elyse Johnston, cousin of the groom, was the miniature bride. Foster Johnston was the miniature groom.
Karsyn Roberts, cousin of the bride, was flower girl. Jack Rackley, nephew of the bride, was ringbearer.
Becky Hollingsworth of Vestavia Hills, Ala., directed the wedding. Presiding at the register was Shanna Corbett, friend of the couple. Alison Vause, friend of the couple, distributed programs.
A program of wedding music was provided by Camille Frederick, pianist, and Mr. and Mrs. Ronnie Flanagan and Tyron Corbett, vocalists.
Following the ceremony, a reception was held at Lane Tree Golf Club. Mr. and Mrs. Michael Cogdell of Powhatan, Va., greeted guests.
After a wedding trip to Jamaica, the couple reside in Goldsboro.
Events held before the wedding included a lawn and garden shower March 2 at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Scott Rackley; a lingerie shower March 1 at the home of Mary Ellen Corbett hosted by Ms. Corbett, Brooke Thompson and Miranda Rackley; a bachelor party March 1 at the home of the groom hosted by Miguel Devarona and Jason Corbett; a miscellaneous shower Feb. 3 at Salem Methodist Church hosted by ladies of the church; a bachelorette party Feb. 2 at Murphy’s hosted by Miranda Rackley and Mary Ellen Corbett; a miscellaneous household shower Jan. 27 at Saulston United Methodist Church hosted by friends and family; a bridesmaids’ luncheon at Lane Tree Golf Club hosted by Jane Lancaster, Kathy Hodge, Gwen McPhail, Ellen Cobb and Donna Thompson; and a shower at School Street Elementary hosted by co-workers of the bride.
The groom’s parents held a rehearsal dinner March 7 at the Village Tea Room.
