McClenny - Wrampe
MOUNT OLIVE — Melinda Sue Wrampe and John Robert McClenny exchanged vows in a double-ring ceremony Jan. 26 at 5 p.m. at Smith Chapel United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Charles Ray Jernigan and the Rev. Jay Winston III officiating.
The bride is the daughter of Darrell and Dianne Wrampe of Harrells and the granddaughter of Marcella Wrampe and the late Milton Wrampe of Yates Center, Kan., and the late Robert and Virginia Bodiford of Lumberton.
She attends the University of Phoenix for a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting. She is employed as a telecommunicator at Sampson County E911.
The groom is the son of Charlie and Sue McClenny of Mount Olive and the grandson of the late June and Katherine McClenny of Mount Olive and Emma Jean Scott and the late Murray Williams of Goldsboro.
He is self-employed at McClenny Farms.
The bride was escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents.
She wore a a white satin A-line halter with split-front dress accented with beaded lace, a lace up back and a train.
Her headpiece was a tiara and veil adorned with pearls.
The bride carried a bouquet of white and rose colored calla lilies.
Angela Lee was her sister’s matron of honor.
Bridesmaids were Terri McKoy, friend of the bride; Meredith McClenny, sister-in-law of the groom; Melanie Wrampe, sister-in-law of the bride; and Christina Starling, friend of the bride.
Charlie McClenny was his son’s best man.
Groomsmen were Jakie Lee, brother-in-law of the bride; Murray McClenny, brother of the groom; Travis Wrampe, brother of the bride; and Scott Williams, friend of the groom.
Alyssa Lee, niece of the bride, was flower girl. Jake Lee, nephew of the bride, was ringbearer.
Sue and Heather Beaman directed the wedding. Presiding at the register were Sammy and Katherine McKeel.
A program of wedding music was provided by Stan Benton, pianist, and Jimmy Martin and Brandy Worth, vocalists.
Following the ceremony, the bride’s parents held a reception at Southern Wayne Country Club.
After a wedding trip to Gatlinburg, Tenn., the couple reside in Mount Olive.
Events held before the wedding included a guys’ weekend Jan. 18 hosted by friends of the groom; a lingerie shower Jan. 17 at Oasis hosted by Angela Lee and Deanna Bullard; a miscellaneous shower Jan. 13 at Bethany Pentecostal Free Will Baptist Church hosted by Angela Lee, Dianne Wrampe, Melanie Wrampe, Lib Lee, Leslie Lee and Shannon Marshall; a girls’ night out Jan. 12 hosted by friends of the bride; a dinner Jan. 11 at the Country Squire hosted by Randy and Sandy McCullen, Brandon and Mandy Warren and Keith and Glenda Beavers; a dinner at Outback Jan. 6 hosted by the Robert Swinson family; a dinner at the Steak Barn Jan. 5 hosted by the Dennis Waller family; a miscellaneous shower Dec. 30 at Smith Chapel Church hosted by members of the church and friends of the groom; a lawn and garden shower Dec. 2 hosted by Jack, Hilda and Lewis Alphin, Murray and Meredith McClenny and Scott and Heather Ingram; and a Christmas shower Nov. 11 hosted by Angela Lee, Dianne Wrampe and Melanie Wrampe.
The groom’s parents held a rehearsal dinner Jan. 25 at the Country Squire.
