Shadle - Weeks
Kymberly Nicole Weeks and James Albert Shadle Jr. exchanged vows in a double-ring ceremony Dec. 1 at 5 p.m. at Thunder Swamp Pentecostal Holiness Church, with the Rev. Larry Cain, friend of the bride, officiating.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Rex A. Lewis of Mount Olive, the granddaughter of Hetty Whitfield and Glenn Weeks of Mount Olive, the late James G. “J.G.” Whitfield, Janice Lynn M. Weeks of Faison and the late Mr. and Mrs. Woodrow “Buck” Lewis of Dobbersville and the great-granddaughter of Ruth K. Murphy of Faison and the late Harvey C. Murphy.
She is a 2005 honor graduate of Southern Wayne High School. She is employed with Best Gas and Grill Inc.
The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. James A. Shadle Sr. of Goldsboro and the grandson of Nancy Galestine of Australia and the late Elsie Strausser of Pennsylvania.
He served in the Army. He is employed with the North Carolina Forestry Service at Georgia Pacific.
The bride was escorted by her father and presented in marriage by her parents.
She wore a formal gown of candlelight shantung silk with a sweetheart neckline with shoulder poufs. Cutout French lace handbeaded with clear iridescent sequins and pearls embellished the fitted bodice and Basque waistline. The full skirt was detailed with cutout lace motifs and flowed into a chapel-length train finished with a beaded lace trim. It was worn by her aunt, Angela W. Britt, at her wedding 10 years ago.
Her headpiece was a halo of silk rosettes accented with clear iridescent sequins and seed pearls with two layers of sheer illusion that flowed to fingertip-length with a satin ribbon trim.
The bride carried an arm bouquet of red roses.
Jamie E. Brock was her friend’s maid of honor.
David B. Shadle was his brother’s best man.
Ushers were Rodney R. Lewis, cousin of the bride, and Kenneth R. Fields Jr., friend of the groom.
Lindy K. Bustabad, friend of the bride, was the junior bridesmaid. John W. Britt and James L. Britt, twin cousins of the bride, were junior ushers.
Reagan E. Bustabad, friend of the bride, was flower girl.
Angela W. Britt, aunt of the bride, directed the wedding. Presiding at the register were Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth R. Fields Sr., friends of the groom.
Bride’s assistants were Anita Martin and Debbie Jordan, friends of the bride.
A program of wedding music was provided by W. Steele Sasser, pianist, and Jimmy L. Martin, vocalist.
Following the ceremony, the bride’s parents held a reception in the church fellowship hall. Mr. and Mrs. O. Ray Best Jr., friends of the bride, greeted guests. Mr. and Mrs. Grover Nelms, uncle and aunt of the bride, and Jean McNeill, friend of the bride, were directors.
Events held before the wedding included a floating bridal shower Nov. 11 at Thunder Swamp Church fellowship hall hosted by great-aunts of the bride.
Mr. and Mrs. Ellis Ray Lewis, uncle and aunt of the bride, held a rehearsal dinner Nov. 30 at Murphy’s Place. The couple chose this time to present gifts to their attendants.
