Amber Marie Rewis of Pikeville and Eric Stephen West of Pikeville exchanged vows in a double-ring ceremony Sept. 8 at 2 p.m. at Stoney Creek Free Will Baptist Church, with the Rev. Gary Bailey officiating.
The bride is the daughter of Vivian Elizabeth Higginbotham of Fremont and the late David Rudolph Rewis of Avon Park, Fla., and the granddaughter of Sol and Katie Moseley of Avon Park and Barbara Cribb of Ocala, Fla., and the late Phillip Wayne Cribb.
She graduated from Charles B. Aycock High School in 2005, and attends East Carolina University for a degree in nursing. She is employed as an office manager at East Carolina Chiropractic Center.
The groom is the son of David Milton West of Goldsboro and Angela Lee Bunn of Pikeville and the grandson of Milton West of Newton Grove, Sara Pat Rusk of Goldsboro and Jimmy and Mary Ann Bunn of Pikeville.
He graduated from Princeton High School in 2004 and attended East Carolina University. He is employed as an assistant manager at Shoe Dept.
The bride was escorted and given in marriage by her uncle, Charlie Rewis.
She wore a full-length halter top and a white satin gown with rhinestones on the top. It had a cathedral train.
Her headpiece was a diamond tiara and veil with rhinestones.
The bride carried a hand-tied bouquet of white and purple roses, yellow miniature carnations and yellow orchids with light greenery filling.
Hannah Wilson was her friend’s maid of honor.
Bridesmaids were Stephany LaFlamme, friend of the bride; Chrissy Setliff and Jessica Mills, friends of the bride; and Marrisa Higginbotham, sister of the bride.
David Jason West was his brother’s best man.
Groomsmen were Ryan Miller, stepbrother of the groom, and Anthony Cape and Will Ingram, friends of the groom.
Kayla West, sister of the groom, and Emily Williamson, friend of the bride, were flower girls. Jonathan Higginbotham, brother of the bride, was ringbearer.
Tracy Zacharzuk directed the wedding. Presiding at the register was Kasey West, cousin of the groom. Kristen and Ashley Campbell, cousins of the bride, distributed programs.
A program of wedding music was provided by Kim Honeycutt, friend of the bride, pianist; Michael Jackson, friend of the bride, and Rhonda Ward, friend of the groom, vocalists; and Ronnie Shultze, sound technician.
Following the ceremony, a reception was held in the church fellowship hall. A four-layered white wedding cake was served. Paula Shultze was director.
After a wedding trip to the Pocono Mountains in Pennsylvania, the couple reside in Fremont.
Events held before the wedding included a shower Aug. 25 hosted by the maid of honor; a shower Aug. 19 hosted by aunts and family of the groom; and a shower Aug. 11 hosted by Sara Pat, grandmother of the groom.
A rehearsal dinner was held Sept. 7 in Stoney Creek Church fellowship hall.
