McArthur - Lanier
KINSTON — Mary Frances Lanier and Stephen Bruce McArthur exchanged vows Sept. 1 at Kinston Baptist Temple, with the Rev. Henry S. Seymour, uncle of the groom, officiating.
The bride is the daughter of Glen Lanier of LaGrange and the late Barbara Sasser Lanier and the granddaughter of Mary Howard Lanier of Mount Olive, the late Corbett Lanier, Frances Sasser Salt of LaGrange and the late Johnny Sasser.
She is a graduate of East Duplin High School in Beulaville and Lenoir Community College with a certificate of pharmacy technology.
The groom is the son of Bruce and LuAlice Harper McArthur of Albertson and the grandson of the late Bruce and Thelma Weeks McArthur and the late Johnnie and Mary Lennon Harper.
He graduated from home school high school and Lenoir Community College with a degree in machining and welding. He is employed by P@M Performance.
The bride wore a satin A-line gown with a draped front and face-framing sweetheart off-the-shoulder neckline. It had a beaded bodice, a skirt insert and a chapel train.
The bride carried a bouquet of stargazer lilies.
Ashley Price of Seven Springs was her friend’s maid of honor.
Bridesmaids were Brandy Summerlin of Mount Olive and Caron Harper of Albertson, friends of the bride.
Bruce McArthur Jr. was his son’s best man.
Groomsmen were Jason Harper of Albertson, cousin of the groom, and Daniel Morphies, friend of the groom.
Caroline Summerlin of Mount Olive, friend of the bride, was flower girl. Noah Summerlin of Mount Olive, friend of the groom, was ringbearer.
Cheryl Barrow directed the wedding. Presiding at the register was Jessica Boyette, cousin of the groom.
A program of wedding music was provided by Bruce B. McArthur Jr., father of the bride, vocalist; and Karla Grant, pianist.
Following the ceremony, a reception was held at Maxwell Mill in Albertson.
After a wedding trip to Swansboro, the couple reside in Albertson.
Events held before the wedding included a shower Aug. 12 hosted by the church family of Kinston Baptist Church; a bridesmaids’ luncheon Aug. 11 hosted by the groom’s mother at her home; a shower July 29 at the home of Ashley Price hosted by the bridesmaids; and a bridal shower June 23 hosted by the groom’s mother and Jean Harper, aunt of the groom.
The groom’s aunts and parents held a rehearsal dinner Aug. 31.
