Blackwell - Holloman
WILMINGTON — Lindsey Brooke Holloman and Blake Andrew Blackwell exchanged vows in a double-ring ceremony Sept. 15 at 6 p.m. at Temple Baptist Church, with the Rev. Doug Seymour officiating.
The bride is the daughter of Terry Maxton and Barbara Jones Holloman of Mount Olive and the granddaughter of Doris Jackson and the late Carroll Maxton Holloman of Faison and Latha Seymour and the late J.A. Jones of Mount Olive.
She is a graduate of Wayne Community College with an associate degree in nursing. She attended the University of North Carolina at Wilmington. She was a member of Alpha Phi Sorority. She is employed as a registered nurse at Moses Cone Memorial Hospital of Greensboro.
The groom is the son of Gary Landy and Susan Sizemore Blackwell of Greensboro and the grandson of the late Harry and Tinnie Blackwell of Burlington and the late W.A. and Helen Sizemore of High Point.
He is a 1999 graduate of Lucy Ragsdale High School and the University of North Carolina at Wilmington’s Cameron School of Business with a Bachelor of Science degree in marketing. He was a member of Pi Sigma Epsilon Fraternity.
The bride was escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents.
She wore a formal gown of ivory satin with a strapless neckline. The bodice was enhanced with beading and crystals and was accented by a drop waist café band with lace appliqués. The skirt was semi-cathedral and adorned by a lace overlay and scrollwork beading.
Her headpiece was a single-tiered fingertip veil trimmed in satin accented with scattered crystals.
The bride carried a bouquet of red Freedom roses and green hydrangea accented with hypernicum berries and bound in an ivory satin ribbon.
Jenny Leigh Grady of Wilmington was maid of honor.
Bridesmaids were Heather Beaman of Mount Olive and Kelly Holliday of Thomasville, cousins of the bride, and Holly Keefe of Mount Olive, Jessica Shoneck of Goldsboro, Ashley Turner of Cary, Amber Kirby of Winston-Salem, Dorian Creech and Stacey Hood of Wilmington, friends of the bride.
Gary Landy Blackwell was his son’s best man.
Groomsmen were Dr. Franklin Hatchett of Greensboro, brother-in-law of the groom, and Chad Fields, Antonio McInnis, Michael Rizzuto and Jeffrey Moran of Greensboro, Michael Fulton of Raleigh, Aaron Jones of Augusta, Ga., and Matthew Connolly of Tampa, Fla., friends of the groom.
Cara Paige Wall of Greensboro, niece of the groom, was flower girl. Martin Grimes Holloman of Mount Olive, cousin of the bride, was ringbearer.
Nancy Rea of Snow Hill, aunt of the bride, and Sue Beaman of Mount Olive, cousin of the bride, directed the wedding. Presiding at the register was Gina Barnes of New York City, friend of the couple. Kristen Beaman, cousin of the bride, and Lauren Hatchett, niece of the groom, distributed programs.
Angel Flow of Durham was Scripture reader.
A program of wedding music was provided by Keri-Anne Weaver, vocalist, and Linda Stanley, organist.
Following the ceremony, the bride’s parents held a reception at the Bellamy Mansion. Mr. and Mrs. Timothy Holliday of Thomasville, uncle and aunt of the bride, and Mr. and Mrs. Danny Godwin of Goldsboro, friends of the bride’s family, greeted guests.
After a wedding cruise to Greece, Italy, Egypt, Turkey and Cyprus, the couple reside in Greensboro.
Events held before the wedding included a bridesmaids’ luncheon Sept. 14 at the Pilot House of Wilmington hosted by the bride and her mother during which time the bride presented gifts to her attendants; a bachelor party Aug. 25 in Greensboro hosted by friends of the groom; a bachelorette weekend and lingerie shower Aug. 24 through 26 in Charleston, S.C., hosted by friends of the bride; a a dinner party Aug. 11 at the Country Squire hosted by Mr. and Mrs. Danny Holloman; a monogram shower July 29 at the home of Sue Beaman hosted by aunts of the bride; a dinner party July 14 at the Baron and Beef hosted by Mr. and Mrs. Danny Godwin and Mr. and Mrs. Bevo Weaver; a wedding shower and cookout June 16 at Henson Farms Clubhouse hosted by the groom’s family; and a bridal shower Feb. 17 at the home of Dr. Debbie Grady and Jenny Grady hosted by the Gradys.
The groom’s parents held a rehearsal dinner Sept. 14 at Bluewater Grill in Wrightsville Beach. The groom chose this time to present gifts to his attendants.
