Lewis - Thayer
Heather Ann Thayer and Rodney Spencer Lewis exchanged vows in a double-ring ceremony July 7 at 7 p.m. at Church on the Rock, with Pastor Joy Howell officiating.
The bride is the daughter of Allen and Teresa Best of Goldsboro and the granddaughter of Joe Best, the late Ava Best, Annette Thayer and the late Charles Thayer of Goldsboro.
She is employed as a certified nursing assistant at Personal Homecare Solutions.
The groom is the son of Robert and Sung Ae Lewis of Goldsboro and the grandson of Beverly Abner of Miami, Fla., the late Robert Lewis and Kywang Hyo Kim and the late Bong Young Suk of Korea.
He is employed as an automotive technician at Precision Tune Auto Care.
The bride was escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents.
She wore a formal ivory satin halter top gown embellished with royal blue and clear Swarovski crystals accented with a royal blue empire waistband that flowed into a double-tiered A-line skirt with a chapel-length train.
Her headpiece was royal blue and crystal accents in her hair.
The bride carried a bouquet of ivory dahlias, royal blue tea roses, stephanotis and lily of the valley tied with royal blue and ivory love knot ribbons.
Jessica Best was her sister-in-law’s matron of honor,
Ryan Lewis was his brother’s best man.
Spencer Lewis, son of the couple, was the junior best man.
Ushers were Joseph Best, brother of the bride, and Nick Rosinski, friend of the family.
Noelle Lewis, daughter of the couple, was flower girl. Noah Lewis, son of the couple, was ringbearer.
Cookie Chavous, friend of the family, directed the wedding. Presiding at the register and distributing programs was Angie Allen, cousin of the bride.
A program of wedding music was provided by Kerri Shipp, friend of the family, vocalist, and Chris Shipp, friend of the family, sound technician.
Following the ceremony, the couple’s families and ladies of the church held a reception. Jessica Henry, cousin of the bride, served the wedding cake. Regina Tucci, aunt of the bride, and Andrea Weunsch, cousin of the bride, poured punch.
After a wedding trip to Surf City, the couple reside in Goldsboro.
Events held before the wedding included a bachelor party July 6 a bachelor party hosted by the groom’s brother; a bachelorette party July 6 hosted by the groom’s aunt and sister; and a wedding shower June 2 hosted by the bride’s mother and the ladies of Church on the Rock.
The groom’s parents held a pizza party rehearsal dinner.
