Farmer - Sutton
Catherine Lee Sutton and Jason Nickalous Farmer exchanged vows in a double-ring ceremony Aug. 4, at 2 p.m. at Rosewood First Baptist Church, with the Rev. Larry Bostian officiating.
The bride is the daughter of Dale and Sandra Sutton of Goldsboro and the granddaughter of the late Bernice and Catherine Sutton and the late Orval and Hilda Sjostrom of Goldsboro.
She is a 1999 graduate of Rosewood High School and a 2003 and a 2006 graduate of East Carolina University with a Bachelor of Social Work degree and a special education degree. She is employed as a teacher at Charles B. Aycock High School.
The groom is the son of Donnie and Sheila Farmer of Goldsboro and the grandson of the late James and Dorothy Farmer and the late James and Dorothy Brown of Goldsboro.
He is a 2000 graduate of Rosewood High School, a 2002 graduate of Wayne Community College with a machining technology diploma and a 2005 graduate of Johnston Community College’s bioworks program. He is employed as a bioprocess technician at Talecris Biotheraputics.
The bride was escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents.
She wore a strapless satin A-line gown with silver beading on the bodice, skirt and the descending chapel-length train.
Her headpiece was a tiara of freshwater pearls and Swarovski crystals attached to a white elbow-length tulle veil accented with crystals and pearls.
Melissa Sutton was her sister-in-law’s matron of honor, while Bobbi Lynne Fields, cousin of the bride, was maid of honor.
Matthew Routa was his friend’s best man.
Joey Sutton, brother of the bride, was the groomsman.
Charlie Sutton, nephew of the bride, was ringbearer.
Amber Capps directed the wedding. Presiding at the register was Margaret Kornegay. Chelsea Lynn and Ashley Sjostrom distributed programs.
Special helpers were Angie Thornton and Kimberly Routa.
A program of wedding music was provided by Rich Holder, pianist.
Following the ceremony, the bride’s parents held a reception in the church’s Braswell Hall. Phil and Joyce Sjostrom greeted guests. Wendy Weaver served the wedding cake. Marla Lynn poured punch.
After a wedding trip to Myrtle Beach, S.C., the couple reside in Princeton.
Events held before the wedding included a miscellaneous shower July 14 at the home of Sheila Farmer and a lawn and garden shower June 12 at Charles B. Aycock High School hosted by Christy Klein and Sharon Bennett.
The groom’s parents held a rehearsal dinner at the Steak Barn.
