Balevic - Hampton
Amanda Jean Nicole Hampton and Stephen Joseph Balevic of Huntington, W.Va., exchanged vows in a double-ring ceremony Aug. 4 at New Hope United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Martin Armstrong and the Rev. Hunter Preston officiating.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert G. Hampton of Goldsboro and the granddaughter of Florence Jean Hampton and the late Robert L. Hampton of Bellefonte, Pa., Steven N. Gioe of Pompano Beach, Fla., and the late Marlene Stutzke of Goldsboro.
She is a 2002 graduate of Eastern Wayne High School and a 2006 graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a Bachelor of Arts degree in sociology.
The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Edward Balevic of Concord and the grandson of the late Helen Lambert, Dr. and Mrs. Paul Lambert and the late Joseph and Lillian Balevic.
He is a 2002 graduate of North West Cabarrus High School and a 2006 graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a Bachelor of Science degree in biology and a minor in chemistry. He attends Marshall University’s medical school in West Virginia.
The bride was escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents.
She wore a white satin A-line gown with lace-embroidered cap sleeves, side draping, a sweetheart neckline and beaded metallic embroidery on the bodice. The chapel-length train was accented with beading and pearls.
Her headpiece was a double-tiered fingertip scalloped veil.
The bride carried a bouquet of white calla lilies and white and pink roses.
Katie Hampton was her sister’s maid of honor.
Bridesmaids were Vanessa Gregoire of Manchester, N.H., Elsbeth Gore of Chapel Hill and Ashley Gallaher of Huntington.
Edward Balevic was his son’s best man.
Groomsmen were Brad Balevic of Concord, brother of the groom; Paul R. Lambert III of Charleston, S.C.; and Ryan Gallaher of Huntington.
Isabelle R. Hampton, niece of the bride, was flower girl. Alexander P. Hampton, nephew of the bride, was ringbearer.
Rebecca L. Lancaster directed the wedding. Presiding at the register was Alexandra Laubscher of Pleasant Gap, Pa. Haley Ferguson of Bellefonte distributed programs.
A program of wedding music was provided by Hope Hicks, Madeline Edwards, Pastor and Mrs. Hunter Preston of Raleigh, Hope Hicks and Mike Acree, vocalists, and Whitney Ferguson and Lauren Laubscher, violinists.
Following the ceremony, the bride’s parents held a reception at Walnut Creek Country Club.
After a wedding trip to Emerald Isle, the couple reside in Huntington.
Events held before the wedding included a bachelorette weekend July 14 through 17 in Charleston hosted by the bridesmaids; a bridal shower in Goldsboro hosted by Katie Hampton; and a bridal shower in Bellefonte hosted by Jean Hampton, grandmother of the bride, and Amy Laubscher, aunt of the bride.
The groom’s parents held a rehearsal dinner Aug. 3 at the Royal Tea Room.
