Cashwell-Jones
Donna Lynn Jones and William G. Cashwell Jr. exchanged vows in a double-ring ceremony June 30 at 2 p.m. at Bethel United Methodist Church, with Pastor Johnny R. Strickland officiating.
The bride is the daughter of Edgar Lee and Linda Lou Walker of Hampstead.
She is a graduate of Southern Wayne High School and Wayne Community College with a degree in accounting. She is employed with Eastern Aluminum Supply Inc.
The groom is the son of the late William G. Cashwell Sr. and Martha Carol Cashwell of Mount Olive.
He graduated from Southern Wayne High School. He is self-employed with Cashwell Farms.
The bride was escorted by her father and given in marriage by her family.
She wore an ivory organza tea-length dress with metallic embroidery and a ribbon accent at the waist.
Her headpiece was a double-tiered elbow-length ivory tulle veil.
The bride carried a clutch-style bouquet of peach Oceania roses accented with garden greenery bound by an ivory band.
Heather Lee Jones was her mother’s maid of honor.
Elizabeth Price, friend of the couple, was the bridesmaid.
Ben Kenneth Cashwell was his brother’s best man.
Charlie Anderson, friend of the couple, was the groomsman.
Ushers were Ray Walker Jr., Allen Walker and Drew Walker, cousins of the bride.
Bethany Cashwell, niece of the groom, was flower girl. Brandon Cashwell, nephew of the groom, was ringbearer.
Mary Eleanor Overman, aunt of the bride, directed the wedding. Presiding at the register were Ann Cashwell, sister-in-law of the groom, and Allen Walker, cousin of the bride. Drew Walker, cousin of the bride, distributed scrolls.
A program of wedding music was provided by Ila Strickland, pianist, and Keith Waller, sound technician.
Following the ceremony, family and friends held a reception in the church fellowship hall. Ray and Kathy Price, friends of the couple, greeted guests. Dawn Seagroves, cousin of the bride, served the wedding cake. Pam Swinson, cousin of the bride, poured punch. Ronnie and Peggy Warrick, friends of the couple, were coordinators.
After a wedding trip to Myrtle Beach, S.C., the couple reside in Mount Olive.
Events held before the wedding included a cookout June 23 hosted by Joseph and Shannon Arnette and Ray Walker Jr.; a dinner June 2 at the Steak Barn hosted by Dennis and Cathy Waller and family; a surprise miscellaneous shower May 29 at Eastern Aluminum Supply hosted by co-workers of the bride; and a cookout May 12 at the home of Kenneth and Ann Cashwell hosted by the Cashwells.
The groom’s mother held a rehearsal dinner June 29 at Southern Belle Restaurant.
