Mrs. Wilson

Sarah Katherine Hroza and Gerald Bond Wilson exchanged vows in a double-ring ceremony June 16 at 3 p.m. at Woodland United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Leland Heath officiating.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas John Hroza Jr. of Mount Olive and the granddaughter of Hazel Adams Kornegay and the late Harold D. Kornegay of Albertson, Mr. and Mrs. Thomas J. Hroza Sr. of Clearwater, Fla., and the late Dolores Johnson Hroza.

She is a graduate of Meredith College with a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting and North Carolina State University with a master’s degree in accounting. She is employed by LarsonAllen of Charlotte as a certified public accountant.

The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Snodie Bond Wilson of Kenansville and the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Needham B. Grady of Kenansville and the late Mr. and Mrs. Willie C. Wilson of Winterville.

He is a graduate of North Carolina State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in agriculture business management. He is employed by Cape Fear Farm Credit of Kenansville.

The bride was escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents.

She wore an ivory silk taffeta gown. The A-line skirt had a champagne bow at the waist. Crystals and beads woven with gold thread accented the strapless bodice, hemline and chapel train.

Her headpiece was a single-layered chapel veil of silk illusion.

The bride carried a bouquet of ivory miniature calla lilies, ranunculus with white lilacs, green and white hydrangeas and galax leaves.

Rebekah Thomas Hroza Ivey of Mount Olive was her sister’s matron of honor.

Bridesmaids were Carolyn Wilson of Chapel, sister of the groom, and Carmen Lester Aldridge of Wake Forest, Carissa McLane Fish of Morrisville and Anna Walston Williams of Raleigh, friends of the bride.

Snodie Bond Wilson was his son’s best man.

Groomsmen were Steven Bryan Wilson of Teachey, brother of the groom, and Brian Ross Benton of Indian Trail, Michael Arthur Benton of Hampstead and Jarrod Palmer Smith of Magnolia, friends of the groom.

Sara Martin Carlisle Ficken of Charlotte and Baxter Caldwell Hardy Jr. of Kenansville were Scripture readers.

Sandra Lee, Angie Kennedy, Nicole Lee and Beverly Lee of Mount Olive directed the wedding. Presiding at the register were Mr. and Mrs. Carl Kornegay. Molly McConnell of Waco, Texas, distributed programs.

A program of wedding music was provided by Ernesteen Summerline, pianist, and Rebekah Hroza Ivey, vocalist.

Following the ceremony, a reception was held at the Agriculture Service Center at Duplin Commons in Kenansville.

After a wedding trip to the Dominican Republic, the couple reside in Kenansville.

Events held before the wedding included a wedding breakfast hosted by Anthony and Denise Westbrook; a bridesmaids’ dinner at the Country Squire Restaurant hosted by Bonnie Adams, aunt of the bride; a camping weekend in Ocracoke Island hosted by friends of the groom; a lingerie shower and weekend in Myrtle Beach, S.C., hosted by Rebekah Ivey; a bridal shower at Kenansville Church hosted by Rose Swain, Barbara Wilson, Barbara Dell Carter, Betty Wilson, Cynthia Potter, Harriett Lennon and Ann Stringer; a bridal shower at Wesley United Methodist Church hosted by the church congregation; and a Christmas shower in Raleigh hosted by Anna Williams and Tara Fulcher.

The groom’s parents held a rehearsal dinner June 15 in the jester’s court at the Country Squire Restaurant.
