Sweet - Howell
Joy Elizabeth Howell and Jae Sweet II of Atlanta, Ga., exchanged vows in a double-ring garden ceremony May 26 at 5 p.m. at the home of her the Rev. and Mrs. Amaziah Howell Jr., grandparents of the bride, with the Rev. Howell officiating.
The bride is the daughter of Amaziah Howell III and the late Jessica Ann Howell of Brooklyn, N.Y., and the granddaughter of the Rev. Amaziah Howell Jr. and Theresa Reid Howell of Goldsboro and Mamie McCoy and the late Antoine McCoy of Flushing, N.Y.
She is a 2004 graduate of Spelman College in Atlanta. She is employed as a delegated loan associate at Taylor Bean and Whitaker Mortgage Broker.
The groom is the son of Jae Sweet Sr. and the grandson of Grace Sweet of Berkeley, Calif.
He is employed as a customer services representative at Men’s Warehouse.
The bride was escorted and given in marriage by her father.
She wore a sleeveless champagne silk floor-length gown with a sweetheart neckline and straps that crossed in the back.
Her floral headpiece was red roses and silk white astramaris.
The bride carried red and champagne roses, red astramaris and golden rod.
Aimee Denise Howell was her sister’s maid of honor.
Jae Sweet Jr. was his brother’s best man.
Jason Sweet, cousin of the groom, was the usher.
The couple reside in Atlanta.
