Lane - Edwards
Shauna Deschelle Edwards and Lamar Phillip Lane exchanged vows in a double-ring ceremony June 23 at 4 p.m. at Antioch Free Will Baptist Church, with Apostle Tino L. Bell officiating.
The bride is the daughter of Henry and Annie Bizzell of Seven Springs and Hubert Edwards Jr. of Cincinnati, Ohio, and the granddaughter of the late George King and Annie Bell King of Winterville and the late Hubert Edwards Sr. and Ella Mae Edwards of Greenville.
She is a 1998 graduate of Southern Wayne High School and East Carolina University with an associate degree in business. She attended Wayne Community College. She is owner of D&G Inc. She is serving in the Air Force Reserve.
The groom is the son of Joseph L. Lane Jr. and Annetta Lane of Woodbridge, Va., and the grandson of Eurka Bischof of Germany and the late Joseph L. Lane Sr. and Evelyn Lane of Bronx, N.Y.
He is a 2000 graduate of Woodbridge High School. He attended Atlanta Metropolitan College and Norfolk State University.
The bride was escorted by her stepfather and given in marriage by her parents.
She wore a halter-shaped three-button gown with a U-shaped back beaded with a pearl design throughout and a four-foot train draped with pearls and a leaf design.
Her headpiece was a princess-style tiara attached to a veil trimmed in satin that toppled at the bustle of the gown.
Nikki Fowler was her friend’s matron of honor, while Amaris C. Bizzell, sister of the bride, was maid of honor.
Bridesmaids were Khashanique Lane, sister of the groom; Sheree Berry, cousin of the bride; Monica Jones, Kirsty Smith, Watia Best, Mary Yancey and Monique Brown, friends of the bride; and Amara Brookins, friend of the groom.
Abey Malave’ Lopea and Bayoan Malave’ Lopez, twin brothers, were best men.
Groomsmen were Demetrius Joyner, brother-in-law of the groom; Dereck Dickens, brother of the bride; Stephen Marable, cousin of the bride; and Marcus Patterson, Omar Fonseca, Terrell Bush, Armond Pree and Justin Davis, friends of the groom.
Davion Weeks, nephew of the bride, was ringbearer.
China Lane, niece of the groom, was the junior bride. Terrell Berry, cousin of the bride, was the junior groom.
Katesha Dickens, niece of the bride, was the hostess.
Pernell Harville directed the wedding, assisted by Nakia Berry.
Takemela Newsome performed a prophetic dance.
A program of wedding music was provided by Melvin Crouell, Elondia Crouell, Deonte Anderson, George Tyson and Rose Parks.
Following the ceremony, a reception was held at Seymour Johnson Air Force Base Enlisted Club.
After a wedding trip to Cancun, the couple reside in Virginia Beach, Va.
Events held before the wedding included an apparel party June 15 hosted by Amaris Bizzell of Seven Springs and a bachelorette party June 9 in Washington D.C. hosted by Khashanique Lane.
The groom’s father held a rehearsal dinner June 22 at Antioch fellowship hall.
