Strickland - Waters
LAS VEGAS, Nev. — Stacey Marie Waters of Nahunta and Charles Briggs Strickland exchanged vows in a double-ring ceremony May 19 at 6 p.m. at Garden of Love Wedding Chapel, with the Rev. Anthony Mayberry officiating.
The bride is the daughter of Willie Marvin Waters Jr. of Nahunta and Patricia Howell Plourde of Goldsboro and the granddaughter of Melvin G. Wells of Nahunta and Marjorie S. Wells, Betty B. Howell and the late Billy Ray Howell of Goldsboro.
She is a 1999 graduate of Rosewood High School and a 2002 graduate of Wayne Community College. She is employed as a life and accident insurance agent at AIG/American General.
The groom is the son of Pamela Briggs Strickland and the late William Strickland Jr. of Raleigh and the grandson of the late William and Minnie Lee Strickland of Clinton and the late Charles Leonard and Elda Janet Briggs of Valdese.
He is a 1999 graduate of Millbrook High School in Raleigh and a 2006 graduate of North Carolina State University. He is employed as a life and accident insurance agent at AIG/American General.
The bride was escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents.
She wore a formal two-piece matte satin strapless dress with a natural waistline and a chapel train. It had iridescent rocailles crystal and seed beads around the top, middle and bottom.
Jessica W. Smith was her sister’s matron of honor.
William Strickland was his brother’s best man.
Alexis, daughter, was flower girl.
Following the ceremony, a reception was held at Luxor Hotel’s Pharroes Restaurant in Las Vegas.
After a wedding trip to Las Vegas, the couple reside in Nahunta.
The bride’s family will hold a pig picking wedding shower June 30.
Events held before the wedding included a shower May 5 in Raleigh hosted by the groom’s family.
