Bedford - Holcomb
PRINCETON — Kathryn Christine Holcomb of Pikeville and Matthew Thomas Bedford exchanged vows in a double-ring ceremony April 21 at 2 p.m. at Whitley Church, with Andy Stovall officiating.
The bride is the daughter of Marvin D. Holcomb of Pikeville and Linda M. Hare of Surf City and the granddaughter of Jim Holcomb of Beckley, W.Va., and Aideen Audet, Joanne Hare and the late William Baron Hare of Surf City.
She is a graduate of Charles B. Aycock High School and Barton College with a Bachelor of Science degree in nursing. She is employed as a registered nurse in the intensive care unit.
The groom is the son of Henry T. and Elaine L. Bedford of Kenly and the grandson of J.T Bedford and Barbara Bedford of Kenly and the late T.L and Essie Lewis of Goldsboro.
He graduated from Charles B. Aycock High School and attends Wayne Community College for a business degree. He is employed as a data technician at Dealer’s Specialties.
The bride was escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents.
Kristina Wiley was matron of honor, while Joanne Holcomb, sister of the bride, was maid of honor.
Bridesmaids were Nichole Hare, cousin of the bride, and Amanda Bedford, sister of the groom.
Henry Bedford was best man.
Groomsmen were Jason Bridgers, Daniel Lancaster, brother of the bride, and David Wiley.
Aubrey Lynn Wooley was flower girl. Conner Hare was ringbearer.
Kirsten Stovall directed the wedding. Presiding at the register was Lauren Hare. Francis Pate and Jennifer Lancaster distributed programs.
A program of wedding music was provided by David Wiley and Pam Bedford, vocalists.
Following the ceremony, a reception was held at the church.
After a wedding trip to Playa Del Carmen, Mexico, the couple reside in Goldsboro.
Events held before the wedding included a shower at Whitley Church hosted by the bride’s family and the church; a shower at Whitley Church hosted by the groom’s family; a bachelorette party hosted by Joanne Holcomb and Kristina Wiley; and a lingerie party at the home of Sheila Pate hosted by Joanne Holcomb, sister of the bride.
A rehearsal dinner was held at Whitley Church.
